Tbh your hangover was a little less important to me than the massive and unnecessary paycut all junior doctors will be getting next year. We weren't offending or hurting anyone.

Compared with other NHS staff, it's not just doctors though.

They're not taking money away from the GPs (who are essentially self-employed and can take advantage of all the benefits that that brings), they're taking it off the juniors, first year out of uni and have no other options apart from leaving the country. Do you honestly think that we get paid too much for the amount of work we have had to put into university and the hours, hard work and stress we put into our jobs?

Saying we deserve a paycut because consultant GPs get paid too much is like saying the office juniors deserve a paycut cos the managers get paid too much.

I loved when I was working on the NHS, I got paid 3-4times more than I usually would for my job, unless I went private.

That's why I said GP's, and made my post more specific.
I think your starting salary is about right, (I'm assuming it's about the 30 mark) I jsut think that as you progress the pay comes too far out of line.

They're not actually cutting out pay, but bringing in extra costs which have never been required before without giving us any increase in pay, therefore making it essentially a paycut which could be up to something like 12% of the annual income. People think we're whining about nothing, but it's a load of bollocks that we have to forgo a shit load of money that noone in our career have had to do before and that we didn't know about until October last year.

Aye your not whining about nothing but whining about not getting as much money as you did before when your still getting a fair chunk more then most... (Even at the lowest estimate I could find which was just under £20k...)

32k is NOTHING when you work 50 hours a week +, plus all the stress, uni and extra work you have to put in being a Junior Doctor, You'd be unhappy if you were in Vicki's shoes, believe you me.

I fully support the action the students are taking

The vast majority of jobs in the public and private sectors people have to pay for accomodation out of their own pocket. When you consider this money could be spent on treatments, drugs and technology... looks a bit churlish no?

Protesting/strike, you knew exactly what i meant, you seem somewhat determined to argue about this, which i am not going to do. I expected you to know the reason, which you seem to do, paying 5k when you never have before is in realistic terms a paycut for people who don't earn as much as you say. After travelling and accomodation its a big difference to people who work hard to save lives.

I did not expect you to agree as i've stated above, I'm also not going to argue, we have both stated out points and that is fair enough.
