I never lnew you could drink on the tube. Shoulda gotten a subcrawl in down there before this happened… No pubs, just a carry out and train surfing.

The commuters where talking about this on the London-Reading train, they all seem quite sad about it

Re: Booze ban on the tube

I do recall having some good banter with folk a few times on the just before midnight trains, just had no idea that it was actually permitted.

Just too used to Glasgow, where you can barely drink in your back garden without a licence.

Waste of money. Cut open a box of wine, remove the bag. Add 10p of plastic tubing from hardware store. Duct tape to belly. Done.

Re: Booze ban on the tube

I cant say I've ever really noticed people drinking on the tube before. Pissed people on the last train on a Friday and Saturday night are a pain in the arse though, especially if they've boarded the Northern Line somewhere around the West End and are staying on till the end of the line.

Northern Line on a Saturday night is fucking horrendous, but I doubt it'll change much after the ban on booze.

Re: Booze ban on the tube

I have good memories[1] of drinking on the tube. In particular, half the carriage singing along with you to 'doe a deer' while you swig Buckfast straight from the bottle. God I'm classy.

[1]Such as they are.

I am going to miss being able to drink on the tube. Especially next Saturday.
