You're old enough to have grown up in the 80s, and frankly the Thatcher years have been pretty good to you, economically speaking. Also to your family, as you state in your own post that it was thanks to her that they were able to buy the guest house. (Though, as Endless Psyche pointed out, for every person who benefitted from that, hundreds suffered.)
You can argue that you're not being bitchy if you want, but it'd be a rather tedious debate, no doubt full of sickeningly passive/aggressive jibes like every other post you've made in this thread.
A) I'm not particularly interested in talking to someone who is listening to what they expect to hear rather than what is being said
B) We're filling the thread up with this bitchy crap
PM me or whatever if you still don't get my meaning, though I can't actually see clarifying my posts helping any. | No I said it was always the case not that it was your fault or my fault just that it seems to be a running theme. If it's sounds bitchy it was because you say "you say things" very straightly but in all honest I don't think you do added to the fact I'd twice said I made a mistake in this thread and you keep bring it up, I'm not sure how many times you want to apologise for the same mistake but I feel two times is enough.
Personally I think I was being sarcastic, which I'm not in the slightest bit remorseful about, I guess you might call it bitch. It seems we communicate quite well most of the times but there's also an awful lot of miscommunication down to "me not understanding what you meant", which I'm not 100% sure is actually the case which lead to my sarcasm.
As for the insults/bitchy. I said I don't take kindly to people telling people to fuck off, your a minger or anything like that with no personal communication with the person other than that. I feel there's a fair few levels between the odd sarcy comment and being down right rude to people. If you don't feel there are degrees of this then I guess we have to disagree again.
I think when it comes to Thatcher theirs little point discussing it as we all have pretty defnied opinions and non of us will probably change.
Now I'm going to leave this thread for a fair bit.

| Re: Thatcher has Dementia Still had time for the last word though, fascinating stuff. Though I should clarify that I was talking about your assertion that your misunderstanding was down to my poor wording when I spoke of you assigning blame. I'm happily prepared to accept some of the blame (My points can admittedly be a little convoluted) but I do get pissed at people assuming I have some sort of agenda or am desperately trying to impress them when I'm happy to literally walk them through any of my points word for word.
I put a lot of our arguments down to the plain and simple fact that you seem to think that insults are less rude if you phrase them politely, and I hold the reverse to be true.

Can't wait for her State Funeral. London's gonna be full of people dressed as Argies and miners, waving argentina flags and drinking milk.
And I'm not joking.

I can't actually imagine a more cathartic experience for Britain. |

I honestly expected better from a man as intelligent as yourself mate | I don't wish Dementia on anyone, nor will I rejoice in her death, it will change nothing.
Some of the governments action at the time we're terrible some were good much like the current governments. Her personal opinions on things I generally don't agree with as Mark pointed out in the long run I wasn't hugely adversely affected by her government so perhaps that's why I don't look on her as a monster and more as just a state figure who fucked the country up much more or less than any other government.
I find it hard to see that her government did no good at all which is the impression I get when she's being labelled a monster etc.

| Re: Thatcher has Dementia Thats not just based on her policies though, she was quite literally psychotic, no exaggeration. Of course her government did things which had benefits for some, but it was almost always at the expense of many others. |

t. | I'm sure I read on the BBC website that it still hadn't been decided if she was getting a state funeral. | |

| Re: Thatcher has Dementia I'm for her getting a state funeral. I'd go so far as to say we should have street parties.
Murderer (Belgrano), friend of despots, milk snatcher and all-round evil bitch. I'm just pissed she'll eventually lose the ability to recall the horrible things she's done...

| Re: Thatcher has Dementia It occured to me last night that, because of Dementia, Thatcher is saying pointless and stupid things which is causing suffering and pain to her family.
If you take away "dementia" and replace "her family" with "Britain's working classes" then it sounds like the 80s.

| Re: Thatcher has Dementia Pinochet's best friend will never redeem herself in my books, after she earned me a smacked arse from my dad. "It wasn't my fault I was late coming home from school, a police-man wouldn't let me cross the road so that she could pass through our town in a big brown limo! No, I'm not lying!" *sound of hand smacking bum* |

| Re: Thatcher has Dementia Your dad actually spanked you... On the arse??? Like, in real life and not just in cartoons??? Fucking hell, I never knew that really happened.
And you were of school age as well...? "Being late back from school" is a bit of a lame excuse for punishing a kid, to be honest, sounds a bit like the old man was looking for any excuse to lay his hands on them sweet cheeks!

Usually with a slipper on the back of my legs, but I had to have done something pretty bad.

Even got the buckle end once or twice when I'd been really bad. |
