It's also good to say 'I am more than happy to go to the Financial Ombudsman service in order to resolve this matter, however I am aware that it's the fir thing to allow you to respond and give you the opportunity to correct this matter. I also hope this leads to you reconsidering the charges you apply and bring them in line with the OFT as so many banks now have.
If you don't agree and decline to refund the above amounts, I will take the matter to the FOS after following the correct procedure, and take my business to another bank who value their customers enough not to charge extortiante amounts.'
