This. It's strange how people seem to think it's easy for a 'hillbilly' to assassinate the president of the United States. It's no mean feat.

| Re: Vote '08 - McCain Vs Obama Hillbillys, no, but there are plenty of well-organised extreme right wing and white supremacist militia groups in the states who are utterly livid about Obama.
I'd bet against him being assassinated, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was, and even less surprised if several people have an unsuccessful pop at it over the course of his potential tenure.

| Re: Vote '08 - McCain Vs Obama For the interested btw Obama annihilated McCain in last night's debate, polls showed figures like 53-38 in his favour.
Excellent news I'm sure you'll agree. |

| Re: Vote '08 - McCain Vs Obama I watched the last presidential debate last night. Actually quite riveting and showed up more of McCain's weaknesses than it showed up Obama's.
The coverage here missed the most hilarious moment when McCain was harping on about the 'fines' for healthcare for businesses and Obama comes out with. "Zero." The look of dumbfounded shock is quite amazing and you only got the following open-mouthed blank expression that followed on the More4 broadcast. So for anyone who missed it, here it is:
I'd like to say it's all but in Barack Obama's pocket now, and there'll be an articulate and intelligent President, but there can still be surprises in the next few weeks.

| Quite the opposite. There has been a whole spate of noose-hangings and racist displays across America this year, not all related to Obama either. People hung nooses from a campus tree beneath which African American students had been sitting, for example. The USA contains some of the most prominent bigoted backwaters of the developed Western world, from what I can see. I think they should get rid of the Hope and Glory part and just call it 'land'. |

Breaking news on Friday's Countdown. Senator Barack Obama's campaign has written a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey asking for an investigation into improper leaks from DOJ officials involving their ACORN investigation and whether or not people within the DOJ, perhaps with the help of the White House, are working in concert with the McCain campaign to further the ACORN myth for his political advantage. Keith Olbermann talked with an Obama campaign attorney about this brilliant strategy by the campaign -- they are linking the ACORN/DOJ scandal with the U.S. Attorney firing scandal. If you will recall, several of the improperly fired attorneys were let go primarily because they wouldn't play along with Rove/GOP demands that they prosecute bogus voter fraud cases.

He has some pretty scathing things to say about McCain in particular and the republican party overall. |
