| Re: Complaints over disabled TV presenter there's, like, disabled people all over the joint, not just on telly.
do these parents keep their children locked in a cupboard most of the time, and blindfold them when they do have to go out? cos there's disabled people on the streets, in supermarkets... everywhere. HOW WILL OUR YOUNGSTERS COPE?!

| Re: Complaints over disabled TV presenter The parents that complained are fucking idiots. Why should the fact that this lassie (who is quite hot) has only part of 1 arm cause controversy? Would they complain about that dude who had his face reconstructed after the Falklands war? What about the lassie that had the deformed hand in Coronation Street? Stupid fucking bastards...... |

I doubt it and if kids were watching it, if you were a parent (perish the thought ) you would probably try to explain to them what made him appear "different" thus educating them a bit. |

I think it's the moustache. I just can't get my head round him having a moustache.
He does seem a very decent fellow however.

| Re: Complaints over disabled TV presenter I have a child who watches cbeebies. Seen this woman the other day, and it actually took me a few minutes to realise she only had one arm. Wasn't like she was waving her stump at the camera.
cbeebies have loads of disabled people in their programmes. Can't remember what the programme is but its presented by the guy who does all the sign language things. There are children with all different disabilaties on it, and it is good for the children to be aware of people who are not the same as them as it helps them accept it when they see it in the real world.
so if these people who complained seen a woman with one arm walking down the street would they write a letter to the council saying how dare they let people with one arm use streets that 'normal' people use?
i went to a soft play centre where there was a mentally handicapped boy who was about 11 there. Another mum actually went over to the father and told him that he shouldn't bring his child there as it was for normal children. Seriously, what chance do the kids have with parents like that?

| Re: Complaints over disabled TV presenter The tabloids will attack the BBC at every opportunity because they either have owners who resent the fact that the BBC is State-supported or they are haemorraghing money as more and more people get their news online from sites like BBC News so view them as direct competitors. Add to that the fact that attack is always more popular than defence, that people these days are capable of tremendous outrage over the pettiest of things because it serves as a displacement activity from the fact that their circumstances are rubbish and their own beliefs mean that they would have to accept that it's their own fault and it's hardly surprising. Disappointing, upsetting, and outrageous, yes, but not surprising.

| Re: Complaints over disabled TV presenter I've no problems with the fact she is disabled, Jack hasn't even noticed it. But he's not as interested in the presenters as he was the last, he used to sit and laugh at them, now he just shouts at me he doesn't like them because they're not happy.
And after watching it, I have noticed that the last presenters were alot more up beat and in your face with happiness. These new ones just dont cut it for me

I'd have hung that bitch from the Ceiling of the Play Area so all the other kids could use her as a fucking Pinata.
