Although that's more than likely where Zippy heard it.

"Five million bees? In a hive this [gesture indicating a ludicrously small hive, like the size of a shoebox or something] size??!? But....but.....but what about the bees?"
"Fuck the bees."
Which I think is funnier.

That said, I'm amazed a thread about bees has gotten this far without Potatojunkie jumping in.

| Re: Co-op’s Plan Bee (where have all the bees gone, etc) Someone said something, a while back, about only non-organicly-fed bees disappearing.
I've no idea what their source was. Or how people could guarantee that a bee only ever landed on things that are pesticide free. |

| Re: Co-op’s Plan Bee (where have all the bees gone, etc) My boyfriend bought a bee box a couple of years ago and the only thing that moved in were earwigs.
He's also keen to start keeping bees either in his parents back garden or our allotment. I'll believe it when a box of bees actually turns up in the post though. |

There's a wee hole drilled at the bottom for them to come in and out and it comes filled with bee-friendly nesting material. It has a hinged lid with a bit of plexiglass underneath so you can see the bees if you like. This is similar to the one we have: http://www.ecotopia.co.uk/product/pr...FQkEZgodwThyZw
Would've been quite cool I think, if any bees had bothered to move in! |
