He shouldn't be a bum boy then.
i couldnt decide whether or not to put this in the "god hates fags" people thread or not because according to the BBC website they only threatened to join the protest and none of them have actuall ybeen reported as being there but there has been a lot of "good christians" out in force today against the appointment of this minister to what im guessing is a big church in aberdeen.
long story short this man is gay and over 1000 people have protested against the fact that he isnt living "by the bible".
in my opionion this i a complete joke im not a religious person myself but what has happened when in the 21st century we are still persecuting people for their sexuality? i cant believe that people out there actually think that someone wont be able to read from a book just because he is in a same sex relationshipOriginally Posted by Reverend David Randall

as an added note i would just like to point out that there are people counter protesting this and there are members of the clergy that do support reverend rennie
i got in rant mode and just had to vent

Saying The Words We Mean To No One
A Esperanca é quando a dor presente nós faz tentar outra vez.
I believe whether or not he van take up the post is being debated / decided today. The church'll find a way to sit on the fence, since they always do.
Personally, I hope they forbid him from taking the job, purely because it'll be the final nail in the coffin of any claims the church can have to speak for society, and should hopefully show them up as the irrelevance that they are.
One of the fundamental principles of the Church of Scotland is that there's room for the ministers' own interpretation of the bible, and it is up to each congregation to choose the minister who's preaching is most appropriate for their parish, with the support of their presbytery. This church in Aberdeen clearly feels like he is the best minister for them, regardless of his sexuality, so it's really none of anyone else's business. All this ho-ha from the Evangelists within the Church of Scotland over him being gay is utterly ridiculous. If they don't like it they should just bugger off.

The people voting against his appointment would probably be the same type who'd argue that allowing gay marriage would undermine the rights of local parishes to make their own decisions without being told what to do by the nasty politically-correct people who don't even live in the area.
I was a little shocked by some of the people I know who asked me to sign the petition against his appointment.
Mark E. McKeown: I will NOT be graceful, I will SHOW MY WORKING.
Clear Air Turbulence: The best hardstyle money can buy.
Bunny & The Misshapes: Really?
folk really asked you to sign it?
dunno why im surprised, i got a bnp leaflet through the door the other day. The world's going nuts.
The bible says a lot of stuff that the church ignore.
Not least that religion should be private and unorganised, between an individual and God only. They ignore that one by their very existence.
Matthew 6:5-6 (New International Version)
5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Willies.
