I just don't see why they don't just have the sensors removed
much easier than taking folk to court no?

To be fair, they can't be THAT orthodox if the wife is a doctor. Also, from what I remember as long as THEY don't physically switch on the lights themselves ie flick a switch, it doesn't infringe anything. Our Rabbi used to smoke a pipe outside the synagogue on festivals. As long as someone else lit his pipe for him he was fine with that.

I suppose there are different degrees of Orthodox but even I find it a bit ridiculous.
