| Re: War If you genuinely think either the Iraq or Afghan wars were humanitarian missions, do a bit more reading on the matter. Nothing to do with what the papers say, who despite their "Send our troops home" rhetoric, their coverage of both wars fits well within the expectations of a propaganda model.

im cynical tho, the whole world is going to absolute FUCK, might as well shoot some cunts/get some money before it does
end of the day uk is a tiny country with little to no say in anything and pretty much needs america so we can look big and clever in golf carts with george bush, so we do what they say if you dont like that, dont join the army, its a job, theres no national draft, and this 200 dead in 8 years figure thats bandied around, i cant help but think "i bet theres SO MANY more jobs that have had more deaths over the last 8 years"
i cant think of any but i just cant help but think there is.

Also, the humanitarian argument falls over when there are many states around the world who carry out much the same acts we were "saving" Iraqis/Afghanis from and yet we endorse, fund, train and arm them. The only difference is that these nations are client states, and keeping certain dictators in power helps us continue our imperialism unabated.

its the kinda of thing thats gone down such a huge ladder of bullshit we wont know the full or true story of anything to do with much of it because people will always either be for or against it, theres no middle ground, there will never be any middle ground until we're all dead.
i dont think selective information is as big a deal as the news stories they made based ONLY on that, theres need to know information in 99% of jobs why would anyone think the government would be any different if not SLIGHTLY WORSE....its the government.
We love the CHRONIC-WHAT?-CLES OF NARNIA, pass that chronic-what?-cles of narnia.
