Now dont get me wrong when soldiers in Afghanistan get killed its a sad thing for the family and in general, and they should get there bit in the news. But do the papers and people not realise this is what happened in war people die from both sides. People seem shocked and the papers play on this to prove how terrible things are. Yeah it would be lovley to go to war with people and suffer no losses but thats not real life. Its no as if the taliban are idiots, they are seasoned figters.

The most annoying thing is the familys on the news shouting outrage their son/daughter was killed, well eh the signed up for the army this shit happenes...SHUT THE FUCK UP!

i fail to see why theyve not just designed a really clever anti-cavecunt weapon? rather than just walking around in the boobytraps/bombs/mines/open

rather than sending asbo kids vs seasoned fighters

i do GENERALLY hate anti war folk (i dont mean iraq or afghanistan), its all very well and good sayin "give peace a chance", but for every one person thinking "give peace a chance" theres probably 2 thinking "kill everycunt"

even moreso are the families of soliders who have died etc "blaming" the government etc, its a job, you get paid, its humanitarian work for the best part, blame the guy with the gun/bomb/shell that killed your son/daughter, not the cause of trying to help people who are being oppressed.

Iraq an Afghanistan will be used, but i dont mean purely Iraq/Afghanistan seeing as the topic is "war" not "war in iraq/afghanistan"

They should look into how to detect IEDs using some sorta star wars device. Thats their main danger tbh get rid of that you make life a lot easier.

What annoys me is, one soldier is killed on 'our' side and there's a big unproar about it.

Yet, how many civilians have been mutilated on the other side? Maybe their families care a little bit as well, no?

I think what people find the problems are that a lot of the deaths could have been prevented, had the troops had the right equipment.

War is a horrible thing aye, but sending over troops who aren't even equipped properly is foolish.

Soliders do get paid aye, pretty little for what they do to be honest. Infact, peanuts. I think with the conditions we are in the now (and infact it always has been), I don't like how the Army do recruit these folk that are only joining the Army because it is a wage and I do feel as if a lot of folk (with no qualifications) and etc and promised this career in the Army, with qualifictaions and such, dangled in front of them. It can be a little misleading.

Couldn't agree more, having lost a friend out there. An enquiry was launched after his death and it was found that his death could have been prevented if he had the correct equipment.

This is a good read about why the armed forces invariably don't have the equipment that the soldiers need to do their jobs properly.

Why shouldn't the families be outraged? If you are in the army you're there to protect your country from attack. Protecting your countries business interests on foreign soil stretches that definition a bit too far. A death in an unjust war is surely an unjust death?

obviously none of us here work for the M.o.d and pretty much all we know is what the tabloids say about this blood for oil pish.

but if i had to choose between

A> Take cunts out before they get a chance to get weapons good enough to attack us

B> do nothing til they have these weapons then have a to defend our "home soil" which would end in far more "unjust deaths" if world war 1 and 2 were anything to go by. best defence is a good offence and all that.

i said in first post this is about war, not war in iraq.

i think if we dont slaughter thousands of afghanis, theyll continue to slaughter innocent civilians

but the uk public do seem to be quite "hey we sold em the weapons, but as long as they slaughter thier OWN innocents and not ours, who gives a fuck?"

i dont get why the tabloids have made a humanitarian mission into a witchhunt against "doing the right thing" because they got a snifter of info that it might be for oil.
