| Why is it...
...I can't buy a pack of fags in Tesco, as my passport is out of date?
It's still me, and it still has my date of birth on it, so what's the problem?
(Not sure if this was the right place to post this =/ )

It's not valid ID because it's no longer fit for purpose.

It's something like £72 for a new passport and I don't drive, so my out of date passport is all the I.D i have. For tesco to get all upperty about it is rubbish.

I may have to get one of those,
But it's just so infuriating, If I venture out of England in the near future then i'll obvs have to update the passport, but just to buy a pack a fags?! bah!
