| Re: BNP leader, Nick Griffin to appear on Question Time The only problem I see is if Dimbleby doesn't keep a tight hold on proceedings. The BNP are pretty much the dictionary definition of a single issue party - every problem goes back to 'the foreigners', and that's the only leg that Griffin has to rant on. Set up the programme so that he's forced to comment on a variety of issues (as you'd expect of any intelligent person) and pretty soon he'll fall flat on his face. Press him constantly on his own views on immigration and he'll have a free party political broadcast.

| Re: BNP leader, Nick Griffin to appear on Question Time The fact they have MPs and people voted them in makes them a credible party, sad as it is. They became a legitimate party when they got some noticible success in the form of getting candidates elected.
As I said before, I really can't abide the man, but you can't deny the BNP are a real political party. |

Minority parties will always gain from an unpopular government. | Next step to normalisation is letting non-whites into the party - which they will undoubtably have to do, and will do (sooner rather than later)...
Dare say they'll be given a roll with no actual power...the very definition of a token black guy.
They never actually gained in the euros btw, they had exactly the same turn out as last time more or less, I think they just gained MEPS.
Let them on, says I. Oppressing/Supressing them just makes them think we are scared of their points. Let folk see what they are like.

| Re: BNP leader, Nick Griffin to appear on Question Time Yeah I think the Labour party need to be pragmatic on this one. With such a crisis of confidence in the political situation as a whole and the main parties in general, I think any shunning of the BNP on the BBC would just give the facists a further opportunity to talk about the PLPs alienation from the electorate and distain for the honest hard working (white) taxpayer blah-blah-blah.
To be honest I was never a great fan of No-Platform, if the far right had a pure amazing polemicist or demagogue I could understand - but they are invariably a bunch of stupid looking mumbling bastards.
As long as Dimbleby doesn't treat Griffin with kid gloves, maybe the should get Paxman in just incase.
