| [I know very little about] Politics I am politically naive, especially as regards domestic issues. Given that a General election seems to be on the cards, I figure now is as good a time as any to get educated.
I need a starting point though. Can any of you recvommend some sites or texts to read as a basis?
Cheers.

| Re: [I know very little about] Politics Just get a decent daily paper and follow the politics stories and editorials. You should get the gist pretty quickly.
Better yet, get two decent daily papers, one with a right-wing slant and one with a left-wing slant.
Although maybe this is my naivete showing. I would never suggest anyone do this if they wanted to get an opinion on scientific current affairs.

| Re: [I know very little about] Politics the Guardian has good political coverage. I'd recommend Guido Fawkes' blog as well. Text wise it really depends if what you're interested in is politcal theory as opposed to political science or current affairs but with that said, Machiavelli's The Prince is a smashing read.

Also, boo to the cunt who changed my topic rag! | That was me - I assumed you had just made a mistake since 'Nature' is next to 'Politics'. Not changing it back though.
Guardian's website isn't particularly hard to find: www.guardian.co.uk
You might want to balance that with something slightly centre-right: www.timesonline.co.uk |

| Re: [I know very little about] Politics I also recommend the Young Turks on youtube. They strike a balance between funny yet insightful and thought provoking. Quote:

The Sun can be safely removed from the equation.

| Re: [I know very little about] Politics I'm not sure about this. I've only been involved in politics a few minutes and already The Man has moderated me. Very shady stuff.

Cheers. | All politicians and all political parties as as bad as each other. They 'say' they are there to help the people, make the country great again....in reality this translates to 'i am a good liar....infact, i was top of my uni class at lying...i am the BEST lair around. I will lie, cheat, fuck and steal my way to the top regardless who gets fucked over and hurt on the way. Vote for me, a vote for me means i have more votes than diddy mcstumper there in the *insert favourite political party name here* party'.
Just look at the expenses scandel in the past months.......they are all out to line their stinkin pockets....with our cash.....and if/when they get caught......we didnt know it was illegal(or some other lie), we "promise" to pay it all back(from the wages they get from the taxpayer). But wait......if you or I cheated cash from the system the way those fuck-nuts have, we would be done for fraud and jailed....dont see too much of that happening to the MPs who bumped the system do we?
You are now educated in politics.

Almost all of the "scandal" was within the rules, there was no fraud involved (except, I think, in one case).
