| Royal Mail to hire 30,000 scabs Guardian Article
Looks like the postal strike is taking a nasty turn now as the Royal Mail announce the hiring of 30,000 scabs to try and break the strike.
Not a surprise but it's pretty sickening to see Mandleson, of the Labour party, voicing his rage at the postal workers and supporting this potentially illegal move on the part of royal mail.

| Re: Royal Mail to hire 30,000 scabs Royal Mail would be taking on 15,000 temp staff soon anyway in time for Christmas. They are just taking on more staff and sooner to deal with the backlog which will be left after the strike. |

Personally I'm not bothered as I stand to more mail than normal in the next couple of weeks so I rather like the idea of there being people to cover the slack! |

RM don't want to negotiate, hence the strike.

| Re: Royal Mail to hire 30,000 scabs I’ve got no faith in the Royal Mail any more. These strikes have fucked it for good. From the best mail service in the world to a complete joke in the space of a year. The union have managed to ruin the company, the bloody idiots.

I'm sure there are better ways to negotiate in this situation....or better people to be aiming their frustrations at than the people they work for, like maybe the people who opened it up for competition in the first place and then put caps on postage costs.
