just two of them being - I don't think I'm better than anyone else of under the illusions of grandeur that I have the right to make a descision on who lives or who dies. It's a government controlled murder mentality. Basically if the government proposes it then it's ok. It's not. It never can be. No matter what your reasons, be they government controlled killing/execution / ethnic cleansing or your a serial murderer. |

the only downside i can see to that, is that 'God' wouldn't like you very much cos of all the extra paper work and civil servants he'd need

I know this may be many peoples personal belief and before everybugger neg reps me im NOT dissin that! | in short my moral conscience and beliefs say it's wrong. Just like yours say it's right. Hence it's a point of debate and being debated fiercely by both sides I might add (not just the people supposedly jumping on the defensive. There's as much offensive jumping going on too) |

I assumed it was a given that in stating something here it's accepted as their own belief, and nothing else.
No-one need to have "said it" for it to be adpoted as such.
It's a product of my own morals and ideals, and certainly has no direct grounding in religion.

If you wanna go with the God thing, apparantly we were all given something called free will. The whole "thou shalt not kill" effort came much much later.
Still no answer to my post tho...

I also dont think the government has any right to decide that either. So blows the whole "Should we bring back Capital Punishment" arguement outta the water then doesnt it?
We are all entitled to our beliefs but just because we believe something wholeheartedly doesnt make it true!

knob | C'mon lads nay fisty cuffs on my forum ta!!
I take the earlier point that isn't executing someone for a crime such as say, murder letting them off easy?!?! There is a moral contradiction to state execution - the US government doesn't condone its citizens to kill each other yet they themselves execute people and also commit mass genocide in other countries themselves......confusing messages perhaps? |
