There's something a trifle unseemly about having 'Registered User' appear under one's name. Particularly when the benefits of this undignified stigma elude me. Is there some sort of prescription service? For shame!  What *will* strange people I don't know/have no intention of knowing *think*?!

Yes. All the quiet dignity that accompanies a hideous car wreck is mine. 'Registered User', however, appears under the names of others on different bits of the site. Now, I have the social conscience of a dog caught short on a croquet lawn, but for others....I'm outraged.
