| New songs, New shows, All systems GO! Inspired by the sheer liquid fury of Eddie & the T-Bolts performance of Sunday last I have booked a fragload of shows and slammed down three new acoustic demos on the MySpace to aid me in booking more.
I'll probably record better versions of these in a few days when this cold shifts and my throat isn't full of the unmentionable, but as rough demos go I've heard (and made) worse.
Listen HERE.
Confirmed shows I'm allowed to tell you about : Fri 13th February, 13th Note - No year is complete without a Friday 13th show. Featuring the mania of Senzafine, Eddie & The T-Bolts and Dennis Law Jr Tue 17th February, Trans-Europe Cafe - Last Trans-Europe show was a stormer and this one will kick its limp hippy arse. All-star line-up of Dave Hughes, Roscoe Vacant and international folk star Robert Sarazin Blake. Sun 29th March, Pivo Pivo - After seeing E&TTB here I was really impressed with the venue so booked a show there. Still ironing out the bill, but will keep you updated.
All gigs are £3, which I will do my best to keep as standard price for my shows.

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! I thought Dennis Law Jr was Dave Hughes. I'll be at the Trans Europe Express Cafe gig, looking forward to getting folked up in my own hood.

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! Nah, Dennis Law Jr sound like the east ends answer to early Mr Bungle without sounding like they're trying to sound like Mr Bungle.
Its class that I have two gigs so close together that totally don't clash. Apparent from a possible forum contingent I really doubt there is much crossover appeal between the two shows.
Me? I walk the line. |

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! I'd volunteer my services for the pivo pivo gig, but I'm not confident of being gig worthy in anything less than 6 months.

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! You'll probably get recruited as a pack horse for the massive sound I intend to bring to the small stage anyway, if you're up for it.
I should've mentioned, the first song I love You When You Blot Out The Sun is inspired by this glorious work: |

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! I'm shattered so this might be a stupid question. Is it just you or you got a band. Either way I have always wanted to see you perform Mark. |

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! Its changeable, I draft in other musicians from the vast array of people-more-talented-than-me that I know for bigger shows (Gill and possibly a sexy female vocalist will be playing on a couple of songs for the 13th Note show for instance.) but I pare it down to just me and the guitar for cafe and pub gigs.
Come along to the Senzafine/Eddie & the T-Bolts show, shit's gonna' be off the hook. |

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! Yeah, I had to think on this as I'm a deeply heterosexual type, honest. Its something about the drawing itself, that flickering moment of intense but ultimately loveless passion, that is almost completely absent from the original photograph.
(I even thought about offering to buy it, but I think my lady would both object and start worrying about me.) |

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! Sounds really good. I Love You When You Blot Out the Sun is my favourite.
Also, I really like your version of paradise.
You should record one with the pair of you.

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! I'd love to do more stuff with Dave, but what with me stealing his songs and him continually tossing me shows, I don't want to seem like a groupie. ILOVEYOUDAVEHUGS.
(I'm probably gonna' ambient mic the room when me and a very special guest are rehearsing I Love You When You Blot Out The Sun, so that'll be replacing the out-of-tune, 3am version currently up.) |

I really don't mind if you want to do it though since I've got quite a lot of new stuff to try.
In the movies is my favourite out of the new stuff on your player, although, I would say to turn down the reverb if I had been in the recording room at the mixing phase. |

| Re: New songs, New shows, All systems GO! Hah, You're not wrong. I literally just stood the mic at around chest height and belted the tunes out, stuck on basic reverb on its default settings, and put them up on the myspace. They're getting replaced pretty much every day with the version I belt out that day.
I'm trying to teach myself to obsess less. |
