CBS 6 has just received new information from the Virginia State Police regarding this morning's crash involving a tour bus for singer Miley Cyrus.

Troopers were called out to the crash scene around 8:20 a.m. Friday. They say the crash occurred on I-85 south near mile marker 55 in Dinwiddie County, that's about 45-minutes south of Richmond, Virginia.

VSP says the bus was traveling southbound when it went off the left hand side of the roadway and went about 100 yards before it ended up on its right side. 10 people were on board the bus when it went off the road and overturned.

They are members of the singer's production lighting crew and many of them were asleep at the time of the crash. They exited the wreckage through the front windshield.

The singer was not on board the bus that wrecked, she was riding in another bus that was part of the tour group's caravan. The buses were not traveling as a pack and CBS 6 is told Cyrus' bus took a different route.

One person died, another sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. State Police are not confirming the identities of the injured but CBS 6's Wayne Covil was told that the person who died was the driver of the bus.

hi all. i have a question about council tax: how dodgeable is it? i am a non-student living with students in a flat let by one of them. my name isn't on the lease nor on any of the utilities bills except for our phone and internet ISP. we just moved into our flat and got the council tax form requesting info on who lives there. if we simply don't list myself as one of the tenants, what are the odds of being found out? what access to other channels of information does the council have (ie if i register at the library or anywhere else under this address, will they know?) and how likely are they to make the effort to verify the information? does anyone have any experience with this?

it's just that for a poor and thusfar out-of-work artist, it seems like a lot of money to have to cough up every month... i think i've heard stories about people dodging payment in other cities before but i thought i'd run it by you guys here because i'm not sure how it works here in glasgow.
thanks.

PIN UP NIGHTS 6TH BIRTHDAY
FRIDAY 27TH NOVEMBER
THE FLYING DUCK, 142 RENFIELD STREET, 9PM - 3AM, £5
PERFORMING LIVE - DIRTY CUTS//WE'RE ONLY AFRAID OF NYC//MITCHELL MUSEUM//ALWAYS, ME, ME, ME
NEW & CLASSIC INDIE, PUNK, SOUL & ELECTROPOP IN THE MAIN ROOM & A VERY SPECIAL ONE-OFF "PIN UPS DANCEFLOOR DESTROYERS 2003-2009" IN ROOM 101
HTTP://WWW.PINUP-NIGHTS.CO.UK

Pin Ups is 6! Time flies when you're having fun and it seems like only yesterday we were getting all excited for our first ever Pin Ups in Blackfriars back in 2003. Now we're the longest running indie night in Glasgow and since 2003 we've welcomed the best new bands in Scotland through our doors and created disco mayhem on a scale never before seen on planet Earth.

In celebration of being 6 years young, we're going to dazzle your senses with an all-new set of "Future Pin Ups Classics" in the Main Room disco. The challenge we've set ourselves is to avoid playing anything we have ever played before while keeping you lovely people dancing the night away!

Over the years we've had more than a few dancefloor favourites and we're proud that we've heard some of our biggest Pin Ups winners being used by other clubs in Glasgow months after we'd worn them out and thrown the records away. We've heard tales that the APeeC DJs used to forage in the bins outside the Woody for our scraps - but far be it from us to endorse such scandalous rumour.

Speaking of these Pin Ups tunes which have become recognised indie disco standards, for one night only as a nice birthday retrospective we are also going to be playing the 101 songs which have made people dance the most at Pin Ups since the night started back in 2003. We are renaming the Kitchen "Room 101" for the night and will play 101 of the "Pin Up Dancefloor Destroyers 2003 - 2009"!

These Dancefloor Destroyers have been identified through highly scientific means that neither you nor I could possibly understand and some of them haven't been played for years. This is strictly a once in a lifetime opportunity, and the literary types amongst you may note that the "Room 101" reference hints that once these songs go into Room 101 - they might never come out again…

As always we also have top class live bands and Playing live on the night will be
Dirty Cuts ( http://www.myspace.com/thedirtycuts ),
We're Only Afraid of NYC (http://www.myspace.com/wereonlyafraidofnyc ),
Mitchell Museum ( http://www.myspace.com/mitchellmuseum ) and
Always Me, Me Me ( http://www.myspace.com/alwaysmememeglasgow),
and there will also be a special birthday edition fanzine and badge for the first 100 to arrive, birthday cake and free toast!!!!

All this birthday action adds up to a vague time travel theme which we nod to on our flyer!

We recently announced Matt Groening, genius behind the Simpsons and Futurama as curator for ATP UK Weekend 1 at Butlins, Minehead on May 7th – 9th 2010. He will choose around 40 acts to perform at the event.

Today we're very happy to be able to announce the first group of bands picked by Matt to perform at the event. They are:

BOREDOMS performing Boadrum – 9 Drummer Show
The Raincoats
Toumani Diabate
Danielson (formerly Danielson Family)
James Blackshaw
Anni Rossi
Viv Albertine's Limerence (formerly of The Slits)

Tickets for this event are on sale now from www.seetickets.com

They are priced at £160 per person for room only accommodation or £170 per person for self catered accommodation.

ATP May 2010 Weekend 2, curated by Pavement, is now SOLD OUT.

INSTALMENT TICKETS

ATP are running a deposit scheme for the festivals to make it easier for some people to pay. This scheme is set to close at the end of this week so any applications must be made now! We are offering a limited number of 4 berth apartments, both room-only and self-catering to be paid for with a small deposit upfront, and the remaining amount to be paid by the end of January 31st 2010. Both come with a booking fee of £7.50 per person (£30 per apartment). These apartments will be sold at £160 per person room only or £170 per person self catered.

People who would like to hold a 4 berth room only, must pay a deposit of £60 per person, (£240 for the apartment). The remaining £107.50 (£430 for the apartment) must be paid by January 31st.

People who would like to hold a 4 berth self catering, must pay a deposit of £70 per person, (£280 for the apartment). The remaining £107.50 (£430 for the apartment) must be paid by January 31st.

We have a handful of 6 berth room only and self catered available too; if you're interested please tell us.

As we will be holding the apartments for you, all deposits will be non-refundable, so please only apply if you are sure you can pay the remaining amount when it is due in January.

If you are able to pay through a normal ticket agency upfront for your whole apartment, then please do so and leave the deposit scheme for those people who find it harder to get the full amount together in one go. Also, remember those using this scheme will not receive the early bird discount tickets!

You will be required to pay both instalments by either cheque or paypal. Please note, that all cheques must be received and cleared within 5 days of you being accepted into the deposit scheme. If your cheque does not clear, or is not received, your application will go to the bottom of the queue which may mean you do not get to participate in the scheme this year.

Please email deposit(at)atpfestival.com with MATT GROENING WEEKEND in the email subject line if you would like to take part in the deposit scheme. Please include: your name, address, which type of room you want (room only or self catering) and which payment method you would like to use (paypal or cheque). You will then be notified if your application was successful and details of how to pay by your chosen method, or if you are in a waiting line. Applicants in the waiting line may be accepted if earlier applicants fail to make the first deposit in time. Deposit applications will be granted on a first come first serve basis.
ABOUT ALL TOMORROW'S PARTIES

All Tomorrow's Parties has been promoting festivals and concerts throughout the world for the last ten years. It was founded in the wake of Belle and Sebastian’s Bowlie Weekender, with Mogwai curating in the unusual setting of Pontins Holiday Camp, Camber Sands. Since then the festival has appeared every year and has expanded across the globe continuing to set itself apart from large scale corporate festivals by staying intimate and fan-friendly. The line-ups are chosen by significant bands or artists which results in eclectic events that combine performances by legendary and influential acts with appearances by the latest crop of experimental artists from any (and every) musical genre. The festival has become more successful with every passing year, and ATP events have taken place in the UK, USA, Europe and Australia, with past curators including Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Mike Patton, My Bloody Valentine, Portishead, Sonic Youth, Slint, and Tortoise.

For ten years ATP has set itself apart from other festivals by embracing seemingly disparate artistic genres, with events featuring art exhibitions, cinema programmes, spoken word performances and stand up comedy. It's been called 'Unforgettable' by Spin and 'the most enjoyable festival experience of our reporter's life' by Pitchfork. It has spawned an acclaimed concert series (Don't Look Back), a record label (ATP Recordings), and the release of a feature length documentary about the festivals from Warp X, titled All Tomorrow’s Parties, out on DVD in November 2009.
