I certainly wouldn't get it done via using your existing stretched up piercing as an anchor then using fishing wire. Was speaking to someone that used that method and it all seems over the top painful.
Think it looks quite cool tbh, not something I could ever have though even if I wanted it due to a huge big vein running down the underneath side of the middle of my tongue.
All for it, just not on me personally. | |

I actually rly like tongue splitting now! But you do have to suit it. The thing I love most about it is how it's not obvious at all. I know it's already been mentioned that marc from nirvana's got it done but he also did it himself. At the age of 16. I think that's really impressive! | |

I think it's really daft. Nobody would give me praise for a home boob job. Obviously he's lived to tell the tale, can speak etc. but still, bad idea.

Me ex got this done, went to Manchester for it as he couldn't find anyone in Scotland to do it at the time. He was well happy with the result and can pick up cocktail stirrers with the tongues. 
He got it done with no anaesthetic and did survive!
I never did testdrive the end result, so can't say if it made him a better kisser though
