| Bone fasteners Hi. Can anyone shed any light on the practicalities of fastening into bone ?. I would like to have my sub get threaded sockets inserted into her pelvis to 1) At the front to attach a chastity plate, and 2) For attachment of a (pony)tail at, or close to her coccyx.
Am I nuts, or just twisted ?. Dangerous, risky, or prone to infection. Any (polite) comments welcomed.

I have, a LONG time ago, come across people who like to immobilize their head with fastenings into their skull. Normally, however, this is reserved for severe medical conditions like broken necks. Braces are also used screwed into bone for immobilization of shattered limbs. |

| Re: Bone fasteners On topic - I can't imagine any way you could get this sort of thing done without a proper surgeon on hand, and it would not be cheap, as you'd have to get the metal parts custom made, most likely from titanium, and would take a good couple of months to settle in, and christ knows the complications of having something going from your bone through the skin... |

I'm referring to why they let people like you have internet access, and your inability to string together one coherent sentence in either of your posts. The bone-fastening thing is only slightly more acceptable.
I am particularly LOling at how you say you came across people who "like to immobilise their head with fastenings into their skull", as if it's something folk just did for a laugh, and then admit that this was generally "reserved for severe medical conditions like broken necks". Yeah, I'm sure they LOVED their broken necks~!!

| Re: Bone fasteners bone marrow would become infected very quickly if any infection was present, and risk of septecaemia would be very high.
You would also, as mentioned, need a qualified osteosurgeon and I'm not sure if this could actually be done, given that its a non-medical need for it. |

I was going to mention braces, actually, but those are only ever screwed in temporarily; they're more often than not moulded and attached using straps etc for long-term use - I'd imagine due to the inherent risk of having what is effectively an open wound passing from skin to bone. I'd doubt you would be able to get what you're looking for in any western country, because of the risks with that sort of surgery, and the threat of infection.
Nice to see, once more, that AltNation welcomes alternative people so warmly though. |
