Lessons at xscape

Has anyone had any snowboarding lessons at xscape? I'm thinking of booking myself a few at the xscape in Milton Keynes.

Re: Lessons at xscape

I had my lessons last Saturday. I went for the board in a day package so got 8 hours of lessons. It was intense, and I was aching by the end of the day from all my falling! The lessons got myself and the other 5 on the course up to level 4 standard, which is basically being able to do linked turns and control speed on the main slope. If you take lessons, you get a free 1 hour recreational session when you pass level 4 and again after level 6. Well worth it.

Re: Lessons at xscape

They're dear, but when you factor in the costs of going up north, and take into account the convenience factor, they're probably worth it.

People should go to the Snow Storm thing tonight. Yus.

Re: Lessons at xscape

The price of the board in a day package isn't too bad. It was £150 for 8 hours of lessons, which is actually cheaper than 8 hours recreational time.

If you compare the prices to a dry slope where you can pick up the basics no problem...

Re: Lessons at xscape

£150! well that makes a day of downhill mtbing at Ft William look reasonable. But I suppose you are being coached as well as hiring the kit.

Actually saying that, the Ft William thing is £100 for gondola pass for the day, £1700 bike, full face lid and body armour. So not that bad at all.

Did you get your lunch included too?

Fixed.

I reckon snow (real or fake) is waaaay better for people starting out. You certainly don't have as much fear of falling. I *still* hate falling on dryslope, so i'm a lot more restrained on it.

Re: Lessons at xscape

If you go into the Concert Hall or the City Halls and rake about the brochure stand there are ones giving you 20% off at Xscape in Braehead (In the concert hall they are at the south doors (the ones with all the big stairs) - you need to fill in ur name and shit but really take a bunch of them, how hard is it to make up names and addresses

Also, i got lessons at Xscape - did it with the uni so we got it hella cheap but am now recreational standered even though i still cant really link my turns properly - Its fun tho
