We had just made a small ramp at our local park...when I say small it was about 2 red bricks high, it was also the first set of ramps we built that year so we didnt want to get to high to fast. The run up to the ramp started at the top of a 5' slope leading down onto a contrete path that ran the length of the swingpark...past the roundabout, swings and climbing frames and the ramp was put at the bottom of the chute. One guy sat onthe chute steps to make sure the ramp was safe before anyone atempted it.
I had borrowed my brothers bmx that day...a road bike isnt really the best for this sorta thing
...it was WAY to small for me but I rode it anyway. I flew downthe hill only to see the the guy on the chute kick the ramp, I'd forgotten that I'd called him a tit 5 minutes before. He'd disloged one of the bricks so the ramp wasnt stable anymore...I flew up in the air and gradually went from vertical to horizontal and then skidded along on my left side for about 15 yards. My whole left hand side was scraped to fuck. I had bits of irn bru bottle and pavement stuck in me. The good thing is I now only have a scar on my left hand that looks like the bug from Wrath of Khan

I decided to take my mates out to Myres Hill out on the Eaglesham Moors for a small ride on our mtb's. It was a 25 mile round trip in total but the last couple of miles up the hill took a good 2 hours to get up. I'd recently sold my good bike and all my equipment and was out on my old raleigh that only had a rear brake and the middle 7 gears working. They were all decked out in decent gear and helmets.
Once we made the top of the hill and started to get worried that the windmills were going to fall on us we decided to race down the dirt track through the forest. First one back to Carrot Farm had their drinks bought for them that night in the pub. I flew down the hill in about 5 mins and carried on past the farm and headed out to eaglesham to get juice...looking back its the stupidest thing ive ever done but i got through it without a scratch. It took them about 45mins to get just past the farm. I slowly rode back to get them doing a few miles an hour pulling a few tricks, one minute i wasnt doing any tricks and ended up flat on my face after my front wheel fell down a pothole. No dmage except for my pride
