| i've been meaning to have a pop at rockclimbing, i've checked the glasgow climbing centre website, i just started a new job, so if i eventually get some days off and see some decent wages i'll be coming along
and Arran is brilliant for a wee jaunt, camped there many years ago, didn't actually climb Goat Fell though, just took a route round the glen, long overdue a return visit
the last hill i climbed was Ben Aa'n (Ben A'an?), but that was just a wee one to get rid of a hangover, sat and enjoyed a beer at the top and the amazing view over Loch Katrine (and the young French ladies who seemed to be all over the hill that day)
anyway, got myself a good book out the library, '100 walks around Glasgow', which i'll hopefully make good use of this year
i'll probably think of plenty questions for this thread later

| ah well, even jus joining the climbing centre and goin on the bouldering wall could help you practise tecniques and stuff, kinda pricey in their though.
kelvin hall have a bouldering wall, think it was about £3 for aslong as you want. it is useful to practise indoors before doin natural rockfaces, as that could result in some nasty injuries....unless ur one of the naturaly talented bastards with strong upper body muscles that could keep goin all day and not feel as though their forearm muscles could explode.... but ah well, whatever floats your boat.
and optimodub, i agree the views from ben a'an are quite nice indeed... ahhh hillwalkin man its soo beasty so it is. |
