[Biking and BMX] Nirve...

...are my new favourite people in the whole world. I ordered a bike from them through work and they're giving me an extra 20% of trade price cuz, well actually I'm not entirely sure why. How cool is that?

I think it's a... torrent? Something like that. It's sky blue - very pretty. Can't wait, should be here in a week. Am quite tempted to spend the money I'm saving on getting it through work on a One-25 though... far too tempting.

if you get a good bike , ur not gonnay have stock parts anyway .. itl be good companys parts , .. so in a way all good bikes which dont come with stock parts are custom built , but if u do it urself u get a bit more freedom .. ,

My trek came with loadsa non stock parts like bontrager etc .. so its a good bike , even with stock parts its a good bike .. ..

Ive totally lost the track .. . so yeh , dont diss a bike when it aint even the same kinda bike !!

if you think trek and nirve both factory built bikes are good then who am i to argue but if you realized how much they cost to make then how much you paid for them you might get a shock.stuff like unsealed hubs, non adjustable forks, poorly welded frames are all elaments of factory built bikes.so you say that you have bontrager bits on your trek, good for you but its still a factory bike.and its as simple as that.
so kids in the long run a custom built bike might look exspencive but when you take into account the things you are going to upgrade on a factory built bike you will save more money building it yourself.

I have a dream of building the perfect bike for street, and I know a custom build is the best way to go, but I can't even afford that. Shit, I can't afford anything right now

yeh but the whole point of this thread was, like, how great is it that I can get my bike this cheap. The point being, I'm poor and can't afford to custom build a bike, so this is pretty cool. Also, the point was te people at Nirve are NICE. Oh, and I personally can't stand Trek, but this may well come from hours and hours of looking at, talking about, building, etc, the fucking things. Anyway, yeah.

my trek has lasted me 4 years with one upgrade - handle bars coz i bent mine to fuck when i hit a tree ( ouch ) ..

My frame has withstood many HEAVY knocks , aswell as me being a 17 stone cyclist , into really rough and big shit .. id say its held out VERY well for a factory bike , .. and my forks are fully adjustable .. am gonnay go for a nice wee ride down the campsie glen soon , should be fun

MON THE FACTORY BIKES :d

Yeah, I've got to say, Treks are pretty sturdy, if not the best bike. But they don't break.
