surfing in the uk

righto im wondering if theres like a group in scotland [glasgow] that takes journeys to surf on the waves in the uk
im wanting to get in to surfing but dont really no the spots,dont have a car and dont wanna get ripped off learning it

It's something I keep meaning to try, I've windsurfed before and it was great, think normal surfing would be a bit harder though.

(Should this thread maybe be moved to extreme sports?)

EDIT: Just noticed it says you need your own transport but I'm sure someone would be willing to let you in their car.
