| Re: Snowboarders? Ha, well I got a slot on wednesday (tomorrow), but I've just spoken to midlothian and they appear to have fucked the booking up, so i've no idea if i've got a slot or not... they're getting back to me. Opens the way to going to the one at bellahouston though. |

| Re: Snowboarders? Best. Sport. Ever.
I was just on the nursery slopes learning to slip and stop and stuff... but it was great. Utterly great. Started to get the hang of heelside slip by the end of it, although toe side was a bit ropey... balance was alright though. Surprisingly hard work!
LOVE IT!
D'you have to be a member to go to bellahouston? |

| Re: Snowboarders? Hmm...i've been snowboarding for a few years now. Usually go to one of the various centers up north or the French Alps.
Been thinking about giving dry slope a shot though, the seasons are getting shorter and shorter in Scotland. Just never got round to giving it a shot. Anyone know what it's like going from reall snow to plastic? Any good or rubbish compared to the real stuff?
Also been hearing about this new indoor slope at Braehead although i'm sceptical...Tamworth snowdome charge £22 for one hour at peak time!!! Which is just rediculous. You get a full day on a real mountain for that. Hope this new slope doesnt follow suit, though it probably will |

| Re: Snowboarders? I used to go snowboardin a few years back, but i gave it up cause i was lazy. Im thinkin of goin back to it but bearsden slope is SHITE! They are redoin it though. The buildings in the process of being rebuilt, and the slope does look new, but ill have to check it out me thinks! Though dryslopes are like riding a drinks tray down hundreds of thousands of plastic brush-heads, and if you fall, you can get some serious burns on your skin, if its not protected proper-like!
Need to try out real snow though |

| Re: Snowboarders? It's so much easier to learn on real snow, the snow builds up under your ski's/snowboard when you turn and keeps you upright more I found. It's also a damn sight better view too up a mountain !
hm.. Didn't know they were redoing the Bearsden slope Russell! I live like 2 minutes away by car. Shows how observant i am eh? |

But naw........
You didnt notice how its a big mass of wood and porta-cabins? And how the bottom of the slope is now blue and white, instead of red and white? My god, thats appaling!
Its probably looking alot more like a club than a timber yard now, but i honestly cant imagin how you didnt notice!
