| Snowboarders? I've never been snowboarding before, but recently I've been feeling the urge to get into it, so I've been looking into local dry slopes, prices, etc etc. Just wondering if any of you guys have any advice/tips for a beginner who's never been on a slope before... |

| Re: Snowboarders? I hate dry slopes. Don't give you anywhere near the same effect as real snow. It's the only time I miss my Mum's |

| Re: Snowboarders? Yeah, I've heard alot of bad things about dry slopes, but unfortunately I can't get anywhere near actual snow for at least a year, even then lack of funds might be too much. |

| Re: Snowboarders? I know its skiing but I found that learning on a dry slope made snow a hell of alot easier when I finally went on it. No idea if that transfers over to snowboarding though. |

| Re: Snowboarders? my advice - don't plan to do anything the next day. you will hurt in places where you didn't know you have muscles.
also don't go on a day that there's record winds and low temps at aviemore. boarding down an intermediate slope (chairlifts closed) when you've been been on a board for a grand total of about 2 hours is...interesting...

The Lecht is far more beginner friendly and lessons are cheaper there too |

Any colder and the pipes freeze, and warmer and the groud is too warm and it melts.
Also, the guy that drives the piesteybasher is lovely [/puppy love] |

Also good when they do decide to close yet your bf lives up there and has a key for the snowgates so you can still get up |
