| Picking a snowboard? Seeing as it's coming to the end of the season, i'm thinking about picking up a snowboard, since they'll (apparently?) be coming down in price, in preparation for the next season, over the coming months. I've only been twice, so definitely a beginner. How do I know what size to get, etc? |

| Re: Picking a snowboard? you're best going into a shop and asking, you want one that is just about your height.
the shorter the board the faster you can steer but the easier you'll faceplant it.
the longer the board the more stable, but slower it is. but your best asking the guys in the shop as they'll have actual figures and more experience

| Re: Picking a snowboard? Weights much more important than height when determining what board size you go for. I'm about 174lbs and I ride a 160. As Herloz said tho, best to ask a pro! |

| Re: Picking a snowboard? Aye, really, i'm wanting to get an idea of what I'm looking for then ebay it... there's a few boards that look like bargains at the moment, but I just need to know that lil bit more before i buy. I really want step in bindings cause i've no patience at all, but they're quite dear. |

| Re: Picking a snowboard? Well we all have to start somewhere, if you're first boards not exactly everything you want, it'll just be more awesome when you get the next one! Plus if you're anything like me, best to start off with not the best equipment until you know you're not going to plow into a tree lol I'd send you some links for dirt cheap equipment, but they're all Aussie so not much use to you! |

Flow bindings are the shit, i hate normal bindings when they get full of snow and yer hands are freezing and you can't get them to clip - one of the most frustrating things ever.

See if you go into a board shop, they usually give you lots of good advice, so it's worth checking them out.

| Re: Picking a snowboard? - BITE on Byres Road and in town. (along from Greaves on Gordon St.)
- Greaves sport on Sauchihall St also do snowboards.
- Snow Core on Union St. It's a new shop that just opened, looks a bit shit but they will give you some advice in there.

| Re: Picking a snowboard? Basically I'm fucked.... if it's got to do with height, I'll need a REALLY long one, and with the size of my feet, I need a REALLY wide one....
Not the sort of thing you actually just walk into a store and buy.. usually a custom job.
