| A good set of knives Am looking to invest in a decent set of knives - preferably the all-steel style rather than blade/handle style . Rather than buy an alright set I'll have to replace in a couple of years I'm looking to invest in the good stuff. Was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on makes to look at? Do you have a set of knives you swear by?

(Well I don't know the first thing about this stuff - I had to google how to spell it - but that's what Marie bought and she's fussy about this kinda thing.)

| Re: A good set of knives Global knives will be all you ever need. They are seriously the best of the best.
Apparently made using the same techniques that were used to make Samurai swords. They also have abso-fucking-lutly perfect balance and are as light as a feather. http://www.globalknives.uk.com/
Make sure you buy a decent steel or whet stone with them.

| Re: A good set of knives I have one Global knife and to be honest it's pretty much all I need. I'll probably buy a set at some point in the future but this one does me fine for just now. I've had it sharpened once in the 7 years I've owned it, so it seems to last pretty well.
