| [cheap beer]Brew dog: Zeitgiest Brew dog are offering 70% off their latest product.
enjoy Quote:
…we have recently set up a new brand and website called Zeitgeist. The military line up of characters in sheep masks was designed by a local student.
Our zeitgeist website is now up and running. www.zeitgeistbeer.com
There is a very unusual hook behind the Zeitgeist website. The blog will not be updated by us, but by the customer!
We want to give up ownership of the blog, website and brand to the people who drink the beer. The idea is to create a whole alternative community online on the Zeitgeist site. People can blog on www.zeitgeistbeer.com about anything: beer, art, film, culture. They can upload movies, pictures and say anything they want. The idea would be that the discussion has an alternative vibe which ties in with the non-conforming message of the beer. This is a brand controlled by the people not a brand which controls them.
All someone has to do to be able to blog is to buy some beer from our online shop.
The idea of having an open blog, updated by the consumer is a new and radical approach and is going to need a bit of a push to get the awareness going on it. This is where you can maybe help a little!
I have a 70% discount code - SHEEP - all set up for you to give to your readers on your website so not only do they get some great black lager at an unbelievable price but they also get to be one of the first people to update the Zeitgeist blog
| already ordered a load of it

| Re: [cheap beer]Brew dog: Zeitgiest I've recently discovered the Williams Bros line of beers - Cave in the West End stock them all and have some deals on. The more generic lines of them are 5 for £6.66 I think.
The Joker IPA is one of the better ones. Good Times is the best imo, but you'll pay slightly more for it (4 for £6 IIRC). It's sort of similar to BrewDog in that it's a purely Scottish brewery (based in Alloa I think), and I'm starting to come around to weening myself off the mass produced shite lager I've let myself get too familiar with so this is a good thing to know.
Btw, I think Oddbins have a recurring deal with BrewDog - they almost always have one or two of their brews on special offer.

| Re: [cheap beer]Brew dog: Zeitgiest So do Asda, I just think they're doing a shit load of promotions at the moment.
Riptide stout is by far my favourite of the Brewdog line, that shit destroys me. |

| Re: [cheap beer]Brew dog: Zeitgiest I'm loving this Williams stuff btw - I suggest using the deal at Oddbins to do a pick n' mix and try everything out. I learned that I didn't like the Midnight Sun porter, was indifferent to the tayberry beer and loved the IPA and Good Times lager as well as 7 Giraffes (slightly wheatier pale ale).
Is BrewDog that brewer who got a load of trouble from do-gooders about the 'image' of the brand recently? I vaguely remember something on the news about some group protesting that they were aiming too heavily at the young (read - illegal) festival crowd or something. Not that it will have caused anything but free PR for the brewer I'm sure!

I found a website that delivers it in bulk, but havent gotten around to ordering anyway yet. Apparently a lot of their stuff is organic too. I hear this helps with hangovers (something to do with sulphates) but I'm unconvinced. All I know is that it tastes amazing.
Mon the Scottish breweries btw - can't believe I've let myself get to accustomed to buying shite lager down the supermarket

The Portman Group can only advise then can't actually get people in trouble. They send out bulletins in the trade press basically saying not to buy the specific product until they promote responsible drinking.

| Re: [cheap beer]Brew dog: Zeitgiest Yeah that sounds right, thanks
'Responsible Drinking' is something I personally believe is a parent-to-child passing down of knowledge. But since we clearly suck at that, I think we ought to replace R.E in high school with Drinking Education (D.E.). Lets face it, it'll save more lives and be more relevant to everyone's daily experiences.
