| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? My games going pretty damn amazingly all things considered. I've gone Aberdeen (suprise, suprise) and brought in Pistone (on a free), Aarialto, Sonsin, Bazarite and Sonsin (thanks to the thread on here) and I'm on a run of 14 games unbeaten in all competitions. A couple of draws against Hibs and Motherwell were dissapointing but the shock result of beating rangers at Ibrox and Bordeaux in the first UEFA cup group stages more then make up for them.
Awaiting the first embarrasing defeat and inevitable plunge to mid table obscurity however...

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? Went Man Utd, fans weren't happy at my appointment. Won the charity shield on penalties and an early 5-3 win at anfield helped get them onside.
Beat Liverpool in the League Cup final, Benitez got sacked.
Scraped past Lyon in the Champions League semis on away goals, got barca in the final. Ben Foster played a 10 in goals (the first one I've seen for any player so far) and I won 6-0.
Think I'll give it another year then find a team to take from relative obscurity to the top. |

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? I managed to get promoted with Elgin in my first season with not one player getting paid over £30 a week.
Then it crashed.
I wept.

On a related note (barely) does anyone know if its possible to "mod" football manager so you could run a Highland League game?

(The GIMP doesn't appear to want to bow to the print screen button unfortunatly)
4-4-2
Left and Right wings running right forward, left central midfielder attacking just behind forwards. Team mentality attacking (one or two notches below all out) quick tempo, play with lots of width, clos down often (three or so notches below outright muscling them off the ball) defensive line just below "normal" and passing focused down flanks with counter attack set on.
4-5-1
Extra midfielder (pre 08 Severin 08- Mcnamara or failing that Touzani proves decent enough) in middle of pitch behind the rest. Closing down often, time wasting a little more then normal. Team mentality just above normal and towards attacking.
These tactics have served me well across several versions of champ/football manager with the dons.

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? Just finished my first season with Celtic, won the SPL and the League Cup, beating Dundee United 3-1.
I lost the Scottish Cup Semi Final 2-1 to Hibs.
Got put out of the Champions League in the Group Stages, only getting 2 points and a 7-0 hiding off of Valencia!
I won the League with a point over Hibs, they were 2 points ahead on the last day of the season, but lost 3-2 to Hearts and I beat Dundee United 3-1.
My usual starting line up was:
GK. Artur Boruc
LB. David Murphy
RB. Mark Wilson
CB. Stephen McManus
CB. Edu Dracena
LM. Nicolae Mitea
RM. Aiden McGeady
CM. Massimo Donati
CM. Scott Brown
CF. Steven Fletcher
CF. Scott McDonald. |

The only downside would be Highland League teams wouldn't play in the Scottish Cup and they would get European qualification. That's the only way I can think, off hand, of doing it with the editor. You could write to the creators of the game requesting the Highland League to be a playable league in the next version. Never know your luck.

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? They added in the Welsh league due to an e-mail campaign by TNS fans. I'm sure if you got the other four highland league fans together you might manage.
