| How's yer (FM08) game goin'? Started afresh with San Marino in Serie C2/B. Board want to be challenging for promotion but you start off already over yer wage bill. Brought in a few experienced frees (Paul Bosvelt) the San Marino national keeper, top striker in the U-21s and best midfielder and look good for it after a few games. Already beat Reggiana in the league and a C1 team in the cup.
Also: although the majority of the players are shite there are about half a dozen players of lower SPL quality in the San Marino national team still playing in San Marino and all but two of the San Marinese league teams are amateur so you can just nick their players a lá Queen's Park.

Whats the sketch with that again?
Is there a club team called San Marino, aswell as a national team?
Are the San Marino club team players eligible to all play for San Marino, or Italy?
or is it the same team?
Always wondered. |

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? There's a team who play in the Italian League called San Marino Calcio (hereafter referred to as S.M. Calcio) who play their home games in the state of San Marino. Although there is a San Marinese league S.M. Calcio do not play in it. There is a similair thing going on with the club side Andorra in the Spanish league. The club players are available to play for whatever country they come from. If they are San Marinese they play for San Marino, if they are Italian they play for Italy, if they are Welsh they play for Wales. It's exactly the same dilly-o as Derry City, Berwick Rangers, Cardiff and so forth have.
There is also team that plays in the San Marinese leagues who also play within the Italian pyramid (although at a very low level). Dunno their name tho'. However they are allowed to qualify for Europe through the San Marinese league and cup competitions (unlike the Welsh teams in England)

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? Went Celtic and blew the majority of my £8m budget on Alex from Fenerbahce, I only play 1 up front so having a good AMC behind my lone striker is important. Alex has scored something like 8 in 10 from midfield so it's a good signing but unfortunately he got injured for 2 months and my team doesn't seem to like scoring - sitting 3rd in the league after October, still unbeaten but I've drew 3 or 4 games which hasn't helped. My fan confidence says that they're unhappy we don't convert chances and that I should thinking about dropping big McManus. |

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? Wouldn't Naka be a good choice for behind the strikers? He's quite creative and has a good peg on him.
But, lets be honest, you should be playing Paul McGowan :P

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? Did you change the pitch size at the start of the season?
I started a game as Arsenal just to see the difference in the EPL and you can say to the board you're going to go for winning the league rather than aiming to qualify for the CL and they give you an extra £19m on top of your £25m budget! |

The season's expectations popped up and the board stated that they expected Champions League qualification this season, but there was a drop-down allowing me to change that to 'Win the league' which when selected gave me extra money!
Amazing. |

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? Just led the mighty Oxford from the Blue Square Premier into League Two, won the FA Trophy along the way. Reading are my parent club and the 4 youngsters they gave me on loan were fucking gems. |

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? I'm currently Peterborough who start off in Coca Cola League 2. In my first season I quickly set up a parent club system and chose Chelsea from the options and they loaned me out two central midfielders and a young centre back. I then went back and requested to loan one of their young strikers and they accepted. All of them were amazing players and I got promoted in my first season by finishing second in the league to Lincon.
Turn up of the century was singing Matt Janson on a free transfer and expecting him to be the next Emile Hesky and score sod all, for him to end the season having played 25 and scored 23. |

| Re: How's yer (FM08) game goin'? You can unselect your short list as 'active' which means that doesn't happen. Well, you could in the last one at least, I haven't tried it in this one. |
