Cheating

Anyone else sometimes get a bit bored of Football Manager and create a new club, move a team to different league, make your chairman a sugar daddy, etc. and play a few seasons of that until you get back into it?

I've won every game so far this season with East Stirlingshire, including Rangers and Celtic in the League Cup. I'll probably keep it going to see if I can get from 3rd to winning the SPL in straight seasons then go back into proper football manager.

Re: Cheating

I've found the best way to get back into playing in the 'big leagues' like England if you're getting bored of them.

Play two seasons in the MLS. It's fucking dire, you'll be running back to gubbings from Chelsea in the FA Cup in no time.

e: Nah, I've never bothered with the data editor or sugar daddy options.

Re: Cheating

I can't stick the MLS. I tried it and it is truly dire. If anything it puts me back off it.

7 youth or senior internationals in your first team squad, with a maximum of four senior internationals. (Non-US, of course.) Not to mention a transfer system that is bonkers, you buy someone by offering 'draft picks'.

I do quite like the free transfer system though, when releasing a player there are two days where another team can pick him up, with the teams who finished lower in the MLS getting first dibs! I found this out when Landon Donovan was being released and he went to fucking FC Toronto.

e: That didn't make much sense. An example of the free transfer system:

If LA Galaxy released David Beckham then there would be two days where teams can 'claim his registration' and sign him, in that two day period when clubs go in for him the team who finished lowest in the MLS the previous season gets him. After the two days if he doesn't have a club then it's the same as Scotland or England where someone can just go in for him 'cos he's a free agent, BUT his registration is still held with the club that he was with so you have to offer them something. (I can't remember if it's till the end of the season, or fully to the end of the contract of the player.)
