Re: Football Manager 2009 - 3D!!!

I take back my complaints. I've turned off the 3D match engine, and turned it to classic mode instead of TV mode for highlights with mainly commentary and I love it just as much as the old game.

The press conferences are getting a pain in the arse though, and you can see how lazy Sports Interactive are through them since you get questions like "Robin Van Persie says your team has a large lack of harmoney. How do you think this affects your team?" and you can answer "I think it's great for the team."

The only bug I'm suffering in the new FM is the stupid formation bug, where AMCs and FCs double up so you have two of each player. I think it also caused my game to glitch out, so I was completely unable to make tactical changes in a game (the button was disabled) which buggered the game completely from my point of view.

Oh, and this cracker.. I had £1m left to spend of my transfer budget and noticed that David Beckham was available on a free and at this point had become a good coach as well as still having decent enough stats to be a backup player, but I had him eyed as my new assistant manager. So, I go to adjust budgets and move everything I can to the wage budget and I'm still not allowed to offer more. Fair enough I think, and move the money back to transfer budget. But now I can only move £330k back. So with a couple of clicks of a mouse I lose £660k..

Re: Football Manager 2009 - 3D!!!

The press conferences are a lot of shite really, it's just the same questions over and over.

I've tried to take a lot more involvement with the training this time, seems to be working well so far. Not done anything that groundbreaking other than making defenders do defending more than attacking etc. I much prefer the 3D to the 2D, I still just read the commentary for the most part though.

This gets you the correct competition names and the German/Japan national teams:

Quote:
....football manager 2009datadb900lncall and delete Everything in that file.(nleague.inc and fake.inc)
(if you downloaded the game through steam these files are found in Cprogram filessteam

Next up go to:
....football manager 2009dataupdatesupdate-910db910lncall and delete everything in that file. (nleague.inc and fake.inc)

Next, the lovely folks at sortitoutsi.net made a file for you, get it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/164113559/Fixes.lnc

Download it and save to your desktop.
Then copy it to both folders you've just deleted the files from. Start a new FM save, and not only will German players names and stuff be fixed, it also gives the correct names for a load of competitions. Very useful

Re: Football Manager 2009 - 3D!!!

I'm using the same training schedules that I took months perfecting in the old game and they work just as well so far for me.

Basically got different schedules set up for GK, DL/R, DC (right sided), DC (left sided), DMC, MC (right sided), MC (left sided), AMR, AML, SC. The exact same schedules, but more intensive for the youth set-up too.

To make sure the best youth players progress like they should I tend to have my youth team consisting of players from 14-17, and my reserve team 18-22. My reserves tends to be mainly a holding area for players who might be good enough to break into the first team and I loan them out a lot. If a player doesn't make it by 22 they're released or sold.

I also never keep a player beyond 29-years-old, I always sell them at that point when their value is at it's highest usually and will only go down at that point onwards, like their stats.

My standard formation is a:

GK

DR..... DC.....DC..... DL

DMC

MC......MC

AMR.......................AML

SC

Re: Football Manager 2009 - 3D!!!

There's a bug in the game that causes it to crash on a certain date between season 1 and 2 if you've got the italian leagues loaded.

Ragin'.

I think I'd only conceded about 15 goals this season until this point. Fair play to Celtic.

Re: Football Manager 2009 - 3D!!!

I just won the UEFA cup with QPR, need to get screen dump.
Although, in fairness it was 2015.

Everyone should buy John Fleck, turns out amazing.
As does Fabian Delph.
Kyle Naughton turns out very good.
Laurito - Argintinian Striker, turns out amazing also.
