| Re: FM 09 Demo Had a shot last night, Gary Pendrey recommended that I sign a left back for Celtic so at least the virtual assistant manager realises that Celtic need a left back.
Bought Marcelo from Real Madrid and John O'Shea from Man United, haven't played a league game yet though. |

Bought Marcelo from Real Madrid and John O'Shea from Man United, haven't played a league game yet though. | Likewise, and again with Marcelo and John O'Shea. I also brought in Tomasz Kuszczak as a back-up keeper. You could easily build a cracking team just from the transfers at the start.
Transfers out is where the game is nowhere near realistic. I managed to get £7m from Feyernoord for JVoH, £3m from Birmingham for Caldwell, £450k from Hull for Mark Brown and £9m from Newcastle for Nakamura.
Don't get me started on the 3-D match engine. Jesus. |

| Re: FM 09 Demo I haven't played it for any length of time but apparently the injuries in the demo make it unplayable - there's people complaining about 5-6 injuries on every game. Only SI Games would pass a game through beta testing with so many bugs as is the standard every year.
Unsurprisingly there's a patch on the day of release. |

| Re: FM 09 Demo See when you buy the game and register it (send the wee slip away), do they send you out patch updates on CD?

| Re: FM 09 Demo If they don't, they are making a big assumption everyone has the internet, or access to download a 80-120meg file. And with all the first games they've released over the years, they have all been shocking until the patch comes out.
I might send my idea in, and make some money off them.

| Re: FM 09 Demo @Timmy - They're also releasing it via Steam (Think Half Life, etc). That way you download the game after paying and all updates are downloaded through it too. Well, official ones.
I uninstalled the demo after about twenty minutes of messing about with it. I won't be buying this new one, I'll just keep updating the old one now and again. |

| Re: FM 09 Demo I'm really liking the new one, the 3d match engine is much better to watch than the 2D. I never bothered with the 2D but watch the key highlights of all my games now.
Being able to make first team squad members eligible for the reserves is a great idea as well.
Full game is released on Friday, even if you get it before then you won't be able to play it as you'll need an activation code and this isn't being released until then. |

| Re: FM 09 Demo Are the Highlights not a bit repetitive?
Like alot of goals are exactly the same all the time except with different strips on?
Can't imagine watching and thinking "oooft what a goal" then it seeing the same clip 50 times a season.
Id watch it once or twice then go back to just text based matches on ULTRA fast speed.
You could make first team members eliglble for reserve games in the last game.
Only for a few weeks/until fit/next 5 days though. |
