| FM2010 - wish list 1 - B-Team, youth team, U-21 manager
Not that I'd really use it all that much but if you're unemployed why not be able to become a B-team, reserve team or youth team manager until a job comes along? You don't sign any players or sell any but can maybe give advice to the big team manager. Same with national U-21, U-19 squads. Billy Stark, etc. have all worked with a club and the u-21s or just be a stand alone manager at that level. Likewise it would be good to hire your own manager for these positions (like you can already do as an international manager) and there's more prestige in being Barcelona B or Chelsea reserve team manager than there is managing Rotherham. You can either wait it out hoping for a chance at the big job or you can start applying for jobs again.
2 - Director of Football/Over eager chairman
Wasn't Martin Jol bitching about not being able to sign anyone as Spurs manager as the Director of Football was doing it? Didn't Dennis Wise splash the cash without Keegan's say-so? If you're at a club with a DoF having him, occasionally, splash YOUR cash would be a good addition. It's be up to you to pick and choose jobs with this as a factor. Don't DoF's sort out player contract negotiations too? Perhaps you just tell yer superior who to sign and it's up to them to iron out the deals or deny it?
3 - Testimonials
No matter what club you are at once a player has been at your club for 10 years you should be allowed to arrange a friendly the other club can't say no to. So if you're Halifax and yer centre back hits 10 years you get a friendly v Real Madrid no questions asked. Not the most realistic but perhaps a fun addition
4 - Press conference
These were dull and repetitive. Fix it. Somehow.

| Re: FM2010 - wish list My main gripe with FM is that you have no say in your stadium/facilities. The one thing that is brilliant about FIFA manager is that you can take complete control of your finances. It's so good being able to design your own stadium and choose which countries you want to create youth acadamies in. |

| Re: FM2010 - wish list I don't really care much for the stadium stuff. That's not really a manager's say so. More choice on feeder clubs/facilities/acadamies sounds good

| Re: FM2010 - wish list You basically are a DoF in Football Manager.
I think you should also be allowed to "tap up" certain players, at your own risk of course.
Much like issuing a "board ultimatum", if you do it at the wrong time or to the wrong player you get done.

| Re: FM2010 - wish list Some good ideas there, the press got boring rather fast I think.
A good thing I think would be a summer invite, Ie: for any players who are a free transfer and who are interested in going to your club prove it by coming into a pre season training camp with a few closed door friendlies to see what they are like.
I know you can have trials at the moment but it would be good for players to apply to you and get your coaching staff to give you their opinion on them.
Probably does not make sense but it sounds good in my head.

Probably does not make sense but it sounds good in my head. | You can already do it.
Get a player in on trial, play him in a friendly then get a coach report.

| Re: FM2010 - wish list I know you can do that, that's after tracking down players...I was trying to say maybe your scouting network could point out possible free signings and suggest you take a further look at them and give you a report at the end.

| Re: FM2010 - wish list In the summer there's games between all the free transfer players for each country, you can send your scout out to watch them. |

| Re: FM2010 - wish list It only appears in your news if you're a wee team, if you're a big team you'll have to swatch the friendlies for when it is. |

| Re: FM2010 - wish list Tapping up's a good shout. Another thing that kinda bugs me is seeing guys like Gren Henslee, Chris Templeman, etc. signing for Stranraer. You do find there are a lot of "east coast" part timers. They'll move to the west coast to go full time but Alan Rattray, for instance, knocked back a move to Dumbarton a while back because there was no point being a part-time player thanks to the travel costs and Elgin, for instance, find it really difficult to sign players who aren't local. Just guys from Peterhead aren't likely to sign for Berwick and such.
That's really minor obviously.
