“The SPL pointed out that the French authorities had allowed Lyon a similar weekend off, cancelling their tie at Caen.”
| It's on their official site as their next fixture. What the fuck, SPL? |

| Re: The Official Rangers Thread Maybe the website hasn't been updated? It's common practise for teams abroad to get more time to prepare, Scotland unsurprisingly is just catching up 10 years late.
I'm trying my hardest but failing to see how this is a big deal for anyone, especially Celtic fans. |

Lyon claim Rangers have been handed an advantage ahead of their crunch UEFA Champions League clash at Ibrox next week by being given the weekend off.
The Scottish Premier League agreed to postpone the Govan club's live televised match with Gretna at Fir Park on Sunday to allow them more time to prepare for the match against the French giants.
The Gers only need a draw against Les Gones to qualify for the last 16 of the tournament.
Lyon general manager Marino Faccioli insists the Ligue 1 champions would not have been afforded such a luxury as a free weekend by their league bosses.
He said: "There was no point. It knew it would be a non-starter.
"It's a big advantage to Rangers because their players will be fresher and they will have more time to focus on the game than we do.
"Good luck to them in getting their game postponed but it would never happen in France. We'd just be told to get on with our game."

Who gives a fuck really?
Rangers allow us to go a potential 7pts clear by the time they play their next domestic match.
It also leaves them with two away fixtures to re-arrange for midweek. That'll really hurt them in their bid for the League and UEFA cup |

I'm trying my hardest but failing to see how this is a big deal for anyone, especially Celtic fans. | Well, it's unfair to the Lyon team who have a 800-mile round trip to Caan on Saturday then fly over to Glasgow to play Rangers who got a 30-mile trip postponed. Quote:
The SPL had announced the decision while claiming that Lyon's French league game against Caen on Saturday had also been postponed.
But Lyon general manager Marino Faccioli said they had never even contemplated such a request.
"There was no point," he said. "We knew it would be a non-starter.
"It's a big advantage to Rangers because their players will be fresher and they will have more time to focus on the game than we do.
"Good luck to them in getting their game postponed, but it would never happen in France. We'd just be told to get on with our game."
| I'm also concerned that the SPL have been spouting pish in order to justify postponing the game. |

Fuck it, though. All the sweeter when we're 7 points clear in the league and Lyon win any way. |

| Re: The Official Rangers Thread Our game against St. Mirren has been re-arranged to January, so we've now got 8 Games in that month.
Fun times! Nae excuses but.
Also check this fucking beauty of a story: Quote: Sebo - player of the month in Valenciennes!
The 23-year-old Slovakian who temporarily left the Scottish giant Glasgow Rangers despite enjoying a cult hero status has just recently been awarded the player of the month trophy in France.
Filip has joined the ambitious French team on loan in August and it looks like he is beginning to establish himself in a new country, which for him is the third within the last three seasons. | Never thought i'd see the day
High-Five!

Spanish international striker Nacho Novo has ended speculation over his future by signing a new two-year deal at Ibrox.
The Spaniard, 28, had indicated he would consider leaving the club if they did not increase their initial one-year contract offer.
"It's something I always wanted. I'm pleased the club has given me the chance as well," Novo said.
Novo's deal was due to expire in the summer and he would have been able to speak to interested clubs in January.
| The wee man's signed up for another few barren years. |
