| Mr John Riise: A Financial Disclosure. **Table breaking images a-hoy!**
These images are rather big, but I didn't want to re-size them and lose clarity on the stupid amounts of money. |

| Re: Mr John Riise: A Financial Disclosure. To be fair he's probably just raked through a bin for it!
For a guy on £20k a year+, his bonus payments are a bit shite. You'd expect more than a few hundred for EPL wins, wouldn't you? |

I always knew Premier League footballers made a fortune, but until I saw this payslip I didn't have quite so much directed hate. |

Nope - it's month ending week 24, and the total to date divided by the 6 months it is into the year will show you this is a monthly figure.
I would have expected him to be paid more, to be honest.
2 points
a. £55k tax in a month. Ouch
b. 120k a month basic isn't actually that much (27.5k a week) in comparison to many footballers on 70, 80k a week, and some up to 120k a week.
Further, week 24 in that year was, as noted in the payslip, the month ending Saturday 1st September 2006.
Our results in the month that payslip is for, our results in competitive games were...
09 Aug, 2006 Maccabi Haifa Champions League Qualifier (3) H 20:05 2-1
13 Aug, 2006 Chelsea FA Community Shield A 15:00 2-1
19 Aug, 2006 Sheffield United Barclays Premier League A 12:45 1-1
22 Aug, 2006 Maccabi Haifa Champions League Qualifier (3) A 19:35 1-1
26 Aug, 2006 West Ham United Barclays Premier League H 12:45 2-1
So the 15k Ch Lg Sal Incr is the bonus for qualyfying for the CL. Fair enough.
The points bonus must, therefore apply for the Premier League.
£250 for a win and a draw. Maybe £200 win bonus, and £50 for the draw.
Seriously. What sort of a fucking incentive is that for a footballer on £120k a month.

| Re: Mr John Riise: A Financial Disclosure. Another thing. Aren't there all sorts of ways to avoid paying income tax of that magnitude? Wouldn't Liverpool be paying money into offshore accounts or some other tax free scheme?

and i suppose youve no idea from that slip how much hes cliaming back.....

An inquiry has been launched by Liverpool Football Club after a top player's payslip, detailing a £139,634 monthly wage - was put on the internet. Liverpool FC are looking at how John Arne Riise's pay document, which reveals the Norwegian's net pay and home address got into the wrong hands.
It also shows his national insurance number and appearance bonuses.
A spokesman for the club, said: "We are taking the matter extremely seriously and we are investigating."
