I tend to agree that folk vandalising wikipedia generally become more of a pain in the arse than comedic geniuses. For instance, I wanted to find something out about Tesco a few weeks back and typed it in to be confronted with "TESCO SELLS CHEAP CRAP AND THE FOOD IS SHIT LOL!". I can't say "joke of the century" crossed my mind. It tends to be the sort of thing that the people actually doing it find hilarious, but the rest of the civilised world finds rather boring and annoying.

It's also hella easy to avoid - either go to the history page and see the previous edit, or just actually revert it. Takes seconds and wins you Brownie points with the bigwigs. RCPing can even be fulfilling, on occasion!
