| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium It's a given that Celtic Park and the surrounding areas are going to be redeveloped with the Commonwealth Games kicking in so I'm not really surprised this stories come about - the folk at the Sunday Mail and the Record hadn't spun any nonsense about their esteemed leader in a few weeks. |

Originally Posted by XMachina when Paul Le Guen was announced as the next Rangers manager or the family silver was sold to JJB, I am unsure which David Murray predicted 'moonbeams of success'. As we know PLG's reign wasn't. Furthermore, Inter, Madrid and Barce were never in touch about signing Peter Lovenkrands, Murray failed to deliver the 3 'big money' signings McLeish and Rangers fans were promised in the January 2006 transfer window, Le Guen was never getting £15m to spend on new players despite Darryl Broadfoots claims to the contrary and Sydney Govou was not going to sign for Rangers (but he did score a memorable goal at Ibrox so partial credit)
As such a 'moonbeam' is a piece of pro-rangers spin that emanates from Murray himself, the Ibrox pressroom or shoddy journalism. The £700m for a new stadium is considered such because Murray international holdings can't even guarantee the ~£600m debt they're in, never mind double that amount on what is a risky project to say the least. |
Ahhhh, I thought it was something do do with those moonbeams charity sweets. They are called moonbeams aren't they?

in the same way as "consumers are opposed to GM" makes me scream foods at the telly... or "environmentalists say we shouldn't rely on nuclear" has me hissing power under my breath. Quote:

| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium The story is, without doubt, a 125% pure moonbream of the orangist order.
Celtic sign a player, and are getting their stadium redeveloped...
Time to show the world Rangers can go one better by pedalling pure moonbeamtastic shite.
Yer stadiums an empty rubix cube. Total box of doom.
Noones buying it, we all ken you've not got enough cash for a mix-up, never mind enough glass cheques to pay for a 700m regeneration project.

| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium Some Rangers fans are legit phoning up the Real Radio phone in saying that they've paid for a brick with their name on it and they want to know what will happen to the bricks if Ibrox gets rebuilt as they've paid good money to have that brick there. |

*shudder* | Yes, and I still call it the Academy.
Besides, it's been sponsored by Carling since it opened as a venue, so doesn't really count. |
