It's a given that Celtic Park and the surrounding areas are going to be redeveloped with the Commonwealth Games kicking in so I'm not really surprised this stories come about - the folk at the Sunday Mail and the Record hadn't spun any nonsense about their esteemed leader in a few weeks.

That's always annoyed me too, but for its grammatical innaccuracy rather than just because it's not the place's name...

in the same way as "consumers are opposed to GM" makes me scream foods at the telly... or "environmentalists say we shouldn't rely on nuclear" has me hissing power under my breath.

The story is, without doubt, a 125% pure moonbream of the orangist order.

Noones buying it, we all ken you've not got enough cash for a mix-up, never mind enough glass cheques to pay for a 700m regeneration project.

what hope in hell do they have of filling 70000

or is it just to say "we have a bigger park than celtic"

and also i doubt they will punt 700m on a new stadium when they wont play buffell another match incase they need to pay 250k

Some Rangers fans are legit phoning up the Real Radio phone in saying that they've paid for a brick with their name on it and they want to know what will happen to the bricks if Ibrox gets rebuilt as they've paid good money to have that brick there.

Yes, and I still call it the Academy.

Besides, it's been sponsored by Carling since it opened as a venue, so doesn't really count.

Naw it disnae. The Academy's never been called anything else, so we've no old name to use. A better analogy would be the likelihood of anyone using the new name if we had "The Pizza-Hut Barrowlands" forced upon us.
