| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium the skydome in Toronto got renamed The Rodgers Centre after a mobile phone network, and the name HAS stuck - I guess it's possible, but as suggested above, the rivalry will reduce the appeal to sponsors anyway.

I.e the Carling Cup works, the Coca Cola Cup worked, but when it was the rumbalos (or whatever) cup people just call it the league cup.

Graeme Spiers take on things.
Out of interest are there anything in the public domain even resembling a blueprint or an artists impression? There was the picture in the paper with arrows pointing about which any idiot with photoshop could have done but if we look back in time to Celtic's Cambuslang project even Kevin Kelly: the useless fool that he was: managed to pay an architect to get some paintings drawn up of what this pipe dream would look like.

What idiot would think they build a new wall for you or take out an existing brick and put in yours? I'm sure there's a big fault with that, especially if hundreds buy em.
Biggest scam ever by both rangers and celtic.
Mug if you buy one.
RE : Stadium
It's plain and simple - it's a total moonbeam, and everyone knows it.

| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium It was said it was one of 3 options. Nobody's designed a new stadium. Seems as if everyone's getting a wee bit ahead of themselves. |

| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium There's no options though, thats the point.
There isn't going to be a new stadium.
Rangers don't have the money for it.
Why demolish a '5 star' stadium? |

| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium The club never said they were demolishing the stadium and building a new one
They've talked about expanding it publicly though in recent years. I don't know what Edgar's on about - "the stadium is showing its age". Is it fuck, it's in great nick, probably better nick than any other stadium i've been in. |

| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium It's a good thing that you don't put much stock in rentaquote Edgar. As I've said before he's the man that the laptop loyal go to when nobody in the club is daft enough to go on the record.
Another thing. Since Rangers don't have a retail operation - they sold that to JJB - how would the shopping centre or whatever they called it work? could be *gasp* this hasn't been thought through? See 'we couldnae afford Scott Brown and it's not good for the game that a Scottish player is transferred for so much' for a precedent.

| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium Fact is, Ibrox is a great stadium and the only problem is that more seats are required. That can be done without completely rebuilding it, it was simply one of the options and it doesn't seem to be the most likely, far from it. I think there was talking about adding a 3rd tier to the Govan a while back also, although i have no idea how tricky that would be. |

| Re: Moonbeams, New Stadium They could be doing with updating how it looks outside, it's 80's as fuck - especially the bit to the right of where the superstore was that has all that wood pannelling, it's like something out of Rising Damp.
I don't think the intention for Murray is ever to rebuild the stadium, I think the blueprints are there to say to a prospective buyer "look at what you could do with Ibrox" rather than what Murray is going to do. |

Demolish was a figure of speech BTW, it's ibrox thats getting demolished, but the stadium will require a massive overhall, as it's dated.
Lol seeing as its fairly new compared to most stadiums about here. Quote: |
