| Re: Summer 08 Transfer and Rumours Thread Milan claim Flamini will have a medical tomorrow.
I'm trying to remember the last time Arsenal had a comfortable summer. I'm sick of sweating over key players leaving each summer. Wenger recently said his transfer budget is much lower than what's reported in the media, so it just more bad news. It's hard to argue against us not being a feeder club for the bigger continental teams.
While Flamini was a big part of our team this season, you have to keep in mind that last summer nobody would have blinked if he had fucked off to Italy like he had planned. His shoes won't be as difficult to fill as some people are making it seem. Our biggest error this season was not doing more to force Diarra to stay. Would have helped us down the stretch this season and also would easily have slotted in as Flamini's replacement. |

So, Flamini to Milan is more or less done then. He flew over two hours after the game for his medical. Thanks, Nicklas, for the fake hope.

But how much will he play? Unless this is for real: Quote: MILAN, May 2 (Reuters) - AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has said he would like to play in the English Premier League.
Rumours that Milan stalwart Gattuso was considering leaving have been circling for weeks but the Italy international, who played in Scotland with Rangers in 1997 and 1998, had been quiet on his future until now. 'I would like to have the possibility to play in the Premier League,' he told Italy's Sky TV on Friday. 'It's a dream I have always had and never hidden. I think I have the characteristics to play in that league.'
Fifth-placed Milan face Serie A leaders Inter in the city derby on Sunday and are desperate for a win to pressure Fiorentina in the battle for the fourth Champions League spot. 'Many people have asked me why I've not talked in this period. I don't want to talk because I don't want to bring personal problems into the group,' he said. 'We are concentrated on the derby. Our objective is fourth spot and afterwards I will have time to talk about my situation.'
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti said recently the tough-tackling midfielder was too important to the club and would not be able to leave whether he wanted to or not.
Despite the speculation he wanted to move, no clubs have been linked in the media with the 30-year-old.

BUT, Liverpool are having a squad clear-out. Riise, Pennant, Crouch, and probably Alonso all leaving. I'd consider Riise for his Champions League experience at left back and for the attacking option and to get the ginger quotient up, Pennant I'm not so much a fan of but we could do worse, Crouch.. JVoH MkII and Alonso is far too slow for the SPL and wouldn't come anyway.
After watching Newcastle v Chelsea yesterday I'm praying to God that Alan Smith goes to Rangers. |
