Aye he's been released by West Brom.
If he can stay fit he'd be a great player for us. Chris Porter has been excellent all season and I'd probably rather he stayed than Beattie came in (we can't afford both) but if any sort of decent money comes in then we really can't refuse.

I've been impressed with Porter when I've seen him this season, although it does represent a healthy profit for you.
As for Beattie absolute chocolate hamstrings while he was here. Had something at one time, don't know if it's still there? By all accounts a nice lad, I hope he can stay fit for you. There will certainly be goals from him if he does. | |

Beattie, when fit reminded me a touch of Alan Shearer. (the way he played, no his goal tally)

In semi-big transfer news Deco has been told he can leave Barcelona and that they'll listen to any offers, in response he's said he won't play for another team in Spain - so expect him to turn up at Spurs where they love buying midfielders, or one of the Milan teams if Mourinho takes over. Hmm, Steve Sidwell being linked with Middlesbrough as Gareth Southgate aims to rescue the money-grabbing little tyke's career. Apparently Chelsea have accepted a bid from Feyenoord for Tal Ben Haim. Oh, and Reading are a bit buggered since Kevin Doyle is off to Villa and Lita to Bristol City. Looks like Liverpool have given up on Gareth Barry after O'Neil said he wanted £20m for him, and are signing Michael Johnson for about a third of that. | |
