Simple answer: Tevez, and buy someone who can score goals so Ronaldo doesn't have to carry that burden. |
lol, sorry i did mean Ronaldo, but with regards to Rooney, i think we havent seen the best of him yet |

| Re: Summer 08 Transfer and Rumours Thread Wahey, the return of the e-Tims rumour mill - home of the best made up stuff on the internet!
Here's the best bits... Quote:
Strachan and Lawell to leave Celtic after next season with Mowbray, McGhee, Moyes, Keane, Levein and ex-Villareal boss Victor Munoz in the frame to replace Strachan
Mark McGhee has a clause allowing him to speak to any English Premiership club or Celtic, not Old Firm, just Celtic. Boyle tried to get it removed but McGhee would only stay if allowed the move and Boyle conceded with compensation already set at a maximum of £250k. Boyle accepts that’s the price you pay for having a successful manager but football is such a fickle sport followed by such fickle supporters that if a weeks a long time in politics, one month is a lifetime in football.

Imminent announcement on an upgrade to Celtic Park on the way.
Gordon Smith's jacket on a shoogly peg.
JJB making £6m profit on the 300k Rangers tops sold in the build up to the UEFA cup final - none of this will go to Rangers thanks to Murray's deal with JJB all those years ago.
Sebo was transferred for a token sum of zilch, that is correct not a bean. All talk of £750k is actually the cost of what was remaining on his contract, a contract that was taken over by the French Valencia.
Words you’ll hear in the Scottish press over the next few days…………Celtic tried to trump Rangers by buying Kenny Miller but he said No……………trust us, you’ll hear it and also trust us when we tell you it is all Murray’s poodles made-up pish as divulged by the world’s greatest entrepreneur..
P.S. In the next Rumour Mill we’ll confirm next steps on the regeneration of CP and surrounding areas, confirm what made Boydie and Bazza fall out, No, it wasn’t over a can of Kestrel although we do like that one and may use it anyhow, another American trialist due over to Lennoxtown, what Caldwell said to Weir at the end of the 2-1 victory that upset the Chelsea pensioner, the Inverness player being monitored by the Huns, our new shirt sponsorship deal and more importantly information on our new beastly of beasts pencilled in to play holding midfield next season and of course updates on all the other pish and wind.

| What, no Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to Celtic/Rangers?
As for the wishful thinking re: Gordon Smith, after 1 year in the job he's no closer to getting a sponsor to the Scottish Cup than when he took the job. He wasn't get given his jotters for that so he's not going nowhere. |

Fulham midfielder Steven Davis is closing in on a permanent move to Rangers, according to his agent.
The 23-year-old Northern Ireland international earned plaudits after moving to Ibrox on loan in January.
Davis's agent Rob Segal told BBC Sport: "I think the clubs will be speaking this week and there's a willingness to do the move."
Segal said Fulham understood Davis - also interesting English Premier League clubs - wants first-team football.
Davis featured prominently as Rangers progressed to the Uefa Cup final and were pipped to the Scottish Premier League title on the last day by Celtic.
Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is looking to bolster his squad after avoiding relegation from England's top tier last season - and it is unclear whether Davis features in his plans.
Segal said Davis enjoyed his spell at Ibrox and would be keen to make his move permanent if the club can agree a fee.
"Fulham are prepared to listen to offers because they understand Steven's need to play regular football at his age," his agent added.
Speaking last month, Davis said he was excited at the prospect of staying with Rangers.
"I think the club is on the up again, they are progressing well and if I'm part of it next season then that will be great," he said.
"I grew up as a fan back home in Northern Ireland and it's been an ambition of mine to play for Rangers and I have achieved that."

Frei, who will miss the remainder of Euro 2008 with a knee injury, added: "No-one has ever put an offer on the table. If they want me they can phone. "Otherwise, I do not want to talk about it." The Swiss captain saw his tournament end in tears after suffering a partially ruptured left knee ligament as the joint hosts lost 1-0 to the Czech Republic in their opening Euro 2008 fixture. His recovery is expected to take six weeks. | No thanks, he's done very little in the last four years to suggest he's worth spending a decent amount of money on at 28-years-old. I guess he'd be a bit better than JVoH, mind. |

Get a grip.
Has anyone actually met "Stew" outside the confines of the internet?
I think he may actually be a ringer account.

| Re: Summer 08 Transfer and Rumours Thread Frei's a good player, who'd do well for us.
He's got a good track record and bags of experience.
Stew also talks like 28 is old, that's a tad strange.
My only concern is that in 2006 dortmund wanted 12MIllion for him.

| Re: Summer 08 Transfer and Rumours Thread JVoH does a great job for Celtic and is a very good football player and that's why he got his game every week even when he was struggling a bit and it's why he's in the Holland squad.
A better player than JVoH would be a great buy for Celtic but most players that fit that description are too expensive and wouldn't come to Scotland.

Although can you really drop McDonald after all his goals this season?

| Re: Summer 08 Transfer and Rumours Thread Frei's injury record being what it is means he's a risk and I'd be surprised if Celtic spent decent money on a player that may only be fit for 20-30 games a season.
