Couple of snippets of transfer gossip re: Celtic:

Gabriel Tamas' protracted proposed move from Auxerre to Celtic could be decided one way or another this week. The two clubs have still not agreed a transfer fee for the 24-year-old Romania defender.

Celtic are close to completing a deal to sign 20-year-old Barcelona midfielder Marc Crosas. But reports that a £2m fee has already been agreed between the clubs appear to be premature.

Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has made an offer for Celtic's Jim O'Brien after the winger impressed on trial.

I'd like to see Tamas come in. McManus and Caldwell are decent enough centre backs, but beyond them it's Balde who's past it and O'Dea who isn't quite at the top level. I reckon Tamas would also give Caldwell the kick up the arse he needs to peform week in week out, much like JVOH when Samaras arrived.

Yep.

Caldwell did have a sticky patch, but over all, took the flack for alot of McManus's mistakes - particularly regarding marking men.

Bear in mind also that Caldenbauer spent a large part of the season being played out of position because we didn't have any fit right backs.

Caldwell has the potential i feel to be the best defeander in Scotland
however he is a bit hot and cold

McManus Isn't the most skillfull however he is good in the air, his marking can be shocking, and he also can bottle it against forward with a bit of pace, lets not forget that kaka goal when his arse collapsed
