That's completely irrelevant, if his contract said he can leave for £7.8m then it doesn't matter if Newcastle want to pay £10m - anyone that pays the £7.8m can talk to the player.

Well, it's been said it's going to be reinvested in the team so we'll wait and see. It's a good bit of business and the guy wants to play in England, it's a good deal for all involved.

well that is true but Rangers are/were his employers so they could have seid no we are not prepaird to sell you at this time and held out for more cash just like they did with Hutton

How would they do that if there's a clause in his contract that says he can leave if a club offers x amount?

Wee interesting fact for you, before Loovens went to Cardiff he was on trial (or was going on loan or something) at Falkirk and wanted to sign but they couldn't pay his wages.

Im more bothered about Hutton going than Carlos. We have Bougherra for cover now and its not as if we have nobody to cover in that position with Whittaker, Broadfoot, Papac, Daily, and big Davie Weir.

He was one our best players aye but with no Champions League we where always gonna struggle to keep him. He did say he was happy to stay because he seen the champions league as his ticket into the spainish squad and at 26 and people like Puyol getting older etc its only a time before that call up. At Villa he will get it.

Still I am raging at the price really he's worth around 12 million not fucking 7.8.
