It's a decision not one club was consulted about. It was a very very very major decision involving the league.

I dont think however, his best season comes in the same year that CC is your best player. He offers a lot of protection. And over all, it's plain to see that Boruc is the better keeper.

Rangers were not consulted about it either so how is there a biased in there favour, this is my whole point!!! Rangers fixtures should only concern Rangers. All the other teams need only wonder when they are playing us. So unless the spl had Rangers playing mon tuesday wed thursday one week, this is the only schedule available! Also its all ifs buts and maybes since if rangers go out to Fiorentina the season STILL finishes on May 18th. so whats the big deal from a celtic fans point of view!!! unless it is clearly just bitterness that rangers could do the quadruple.

Between season 1946-47 and season 1989-90 (the last time it was extended) the Scottish senior league programme has seen fixtures occur after the scheduled end 24 times in 44 seasons - more than half.

Since 89-90 two major factors have made the need for extension less onerous - the lack of Scottish clubs competing in the later stages of European competition and the prevalence of under-soil heating.

The statistics clearly show that historically the Scottish game has regularly extended itself to accommodate the vagaries of fixture build-up. Sportsmanship demands that players be given a reasonable amount of time between competitive games.

That being the case the motivations for those opposed to extending the season must be called into question.

Actually this is incorrect. Rangers would have been consulted over it - remember they asked for the extension in the first place so they would have had communications with the SPL. Even if they didn't get something in their favour that's not the matter.

I'm still against this season extension, but like it has been said many times now, on paper, this doesn't help Rangers at all.

So I'm willing to let this all slip. Remember this is the SPL we're talking about here, complaining about fairness is mute.
