I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for Tommy. | OK, I get where you're coming from and what you're implying here, I just hope it is a reliable source.
Not sure why he'd be travelling to France for treatment if it was as grave as you are suggesting, but on the other hand, that's hardly a conventional approach to treatment, so it must be pretty grim. Either way, I wish him the best.

| Re: tommy burns Since the thread is staying; celtic statement on tommy burns Newsroom Staff
CELTIC Football Club has received numerous messages of support for Tommy Burns and on behalf of Tommy's family, we thank everyone sincerely for these kind thoughts and best wishes.
Tommy is continuing to receive treatment. Clearly, all right-minded people will understand that the club is not in a position to provide updates in terms of Tommy's condition and once again, we would ask that the privacy of Tommy and his family is fully respected at this time.
Under the Press Complaints Commission Code of Practice, the need to respect an individual's privacy with regards to matters of health is clearly stated and we trust that this will now be the case going forward, in relation to Tommy and his family. |

| Re: tommy burns I must point out, that Tommy Burns is suffering from melanoma skin cancer, which my father recently lost his battle against.
Once the melanoma gets to Stage 3 or 4, it becomes very difficult to treat and i hope that Tommy is not at these stages. McLeary is right in saying that not all cancer is terminal, but melanoma skin cancer is sadly among the top killers in cancer (more sore if it malignant melanoma)
Couple of links for those wishing more info on melanoma http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=3018 http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=141
I really hope Tommy gets better, i couldn't care less about the fact he's a Celtic player/manager, as this is a horrible situation to be in.

I believe this is Tommy's second time dealing with the cancer, and has travelled to Paris for special treatment after his condition took a turn for the worse.
As I've said, fingers & toes crossed for the man.
Sorry to hear about you're dad man.
