After time to think about it, i'm agreeing with Westy and Kimzor more and more. That was a fucking embarassment, that last video that was shown today is hard to watch. It's getting harder and harder to support a team with a fanbase that is capable of doing that.

Went out for a drink tonight with a mate who's a Gers fan and was at the game (I'm a Celtic fan, he aint, makes for grand banter at work, but anyhoo....)

He was saying that the atmosphere down there was amazing, nay, electric. He's obv gutted by the result and is utterly fucking embarassed by the way things went and said that he and a great many of the Bears support got to fuck out of Dodge when things started kicking off.

He did say one other thing though, dunno if there's any truth to it, the folks on the forum that were there might be able to shed some light - he mentioned that there was a lot of Strathclyde cops down there and they were the ones that were getting weighed into the fans. Also said that the Manc bobbies were seriously nice and couldn't have been more helpful as regards directions, where folk should be and general banter, but the Scottish polis that got sent down were the ones in the riot gear and were setting about the supporters.

Is that right, or is it a load of shite? I'd love to know.

Edit: Forgot to add, he's another one that's fucked off with football at the mo - due to the result obv, but more so by the animals that made this such a fucking mess. It's kinda upsetting seeing a die-hard Rangers supporter willing to consider giving it all up, coz, and I quote, "What's the fucking point? We'll never be taken seriously while these arseholes are about."

Oh, not that it makes a fucking jot of difference, he's (non-practicing) catholic - might be why he's not bigoted in supporting the Gers, I dunno. I've never really got the whole religion thing - don't think my mind is willing to accept it in this day and age, it's fucking pathetic. Hmm, I wasn't there so I dunno, but logically thinking - why would Scottish cops be there when there's plenty other districts to take police officers from?

My friend from work was down there.
Now he is a staunch rangers fan. Talks abot the game a lot, runs a rangers bus.
I don't talk about football in work as a rule,so he has no idea who i support.

He says the Rangers busses all dropped off in Picadilly Gardens, so from the off that was a bottleneck.
From the start he said the whole place had an air of violence, and it was ready to kick off.
His words were "full of drunk neds", though he referenced the number of English accents in Rangers tops.
First thing he saw as he stepped off the bus was a guy getting a kicking by normal rangers punters.
He had a ticket for the game, so missed the police violence.
